| 2026 | MHPE: Learning Morphology Relationships for Robust Head Pose Estimation With Facial Rotation RepresentationabstractAlthough accurate head pose estimation is critical for natural human-computer interaction, it remains challenging due to occlusion, extreme poses, illumination conditions, and data ambiguity issues. To address these challenges, a novel morphology aware Transformer framework (MHPE) is proposed, which can learn morphological relationships during facial rotation. The methodology is based on two key findings: cross-region geometric dependencies and angle-specific morphodynamic representations. The proposed framework incorporates two key components: adversarial feature generation, which generates robust rotation representations by adaptive multi-scale feature interaction; and morphology relationship inference, which establishes long-range dependencies between facial features through a cross-modal attention mechanism that incorporates morphological priors. Extensive evaluations on three demanding benchmarks (BIWI, AFLW2000, and 300W-LP) demonstrate state-of-the-art performance, particularly in demanding scenarios. The Python implementation will be available on request to facilitate reproducibility. Tingting Liu 0006, Jianping Ju, Zhixiong Song, Shijia Qian, Ning Rao, Hai Liu 0004, Youfu Li 0001 |

| 2022 | Classification of jujube defects in small data sets based on transfer learningabstractAbstract Although convolutional neural networks have achieved success in the field of image classification, there are still challenges in the field of agricultural product quality sorting such as machine vision-based jujube defects detection. The performance of jujube defect detection mainly depends on the feature extraction and the classifier used. Due to the diversity of the jujube materials and the variability of the testing environment, the traditional method of manually extracting the features often fails to meet the requirements of practical application. In this paper, a jujube sorting model in small data sets based on convolutional neural network and transfer learning is proposed to meet the actual demand of jujube defects detection. Firstly, the original images collected from the actual jujube sorting production line were pre-processed, and the data were augmented to establish a data set of five categories of jujube defects. The original CNN model is then improved by embedding the SE module and using the triplet loss function and the center loss function to replace the softmax loss function. Finally, the depth pre-training model on the ImageNet image data set was used to conduct training on the jujube defects data set, so that the parameters of the pre-training model could fit the parameter distribution of the jujube defects image, and the parameter distribution was transferred to the jujube defects data set to complete the transfer of the model and realize the detection and classification of the jujube defects. The classification results are visualized by heatmap through the analysis of classification accuracy and confusion matrix compared with the comparison models. The experimental results show that the SE-ResNet50-CL model optimizes the fine-grained classification problem of jujube defect recognition, and the test accuracy reaches 94.15%. The model has good stability and high recognition accuracy in complex environments. Jianping Ju, Xiaohang Xu 0003, Zhaohui Zheng 0002, Mingyu Lin |

| 2022 | Circumferential Local Ternary Pattern: New and Efficient Feature Descriptors for Anti-Counterfeiting Pattern IdentificationabstractAn important aspect of querying whether a product is likely to be forged is to identify its anti-counterfeiting label. However, the use of image processing technology for label-specific texture analysis to quickly and effectively identify the anti-counterfeiting label has been widely studied. Aiming at the defects of the local binary pattern (LBP) and its variants in texture identification, this paper proposes a new texture model for anti-counterfeiting identification, that is, the circular local ternary pattern (CLTP). The highlight of our technology is that it extracts the effective local texture descriptors by using the random features of inkjet printing. This allows for the technology to not only resist the interference of noise and illumination in images of anti-counterfeiting patterns but also to encode and reorganize the fine linear shape structure. Specifically, this paper extracts the CLTP texture feature in the corresponding key areas and forms the final feature histogram vector for comparison through the one-to-one correspondence between the sample image and the inspected image of anti-counterfeiting pattern. Experiments prove that our method not only has high discrimination, stability and effectiveness but also provides a convenient and practical idea for anti-counterfeiting technology. | 2015 | Extracting More Object Usage Scenarios for API Protocol MiningabstractAutomatic protocol mining is a promising approach to infer precise and complete API protocols. However, the effect of the approach largely depends upon the quality of input object usage scenarios, in terms of noise and diversity. This paper aims to extract as many object usage scenarios as possible from object-oriented programs for automatic protocol mining.A large corpus of object usage scenarios can help with eliminating noise accurately and is likely to be diverse. Therefore, precise and complete protocols may be achieved.Given an object-oriented program p, generally, object usage scenarios that can be collected from a run of p is not more than the number of instances used in p. Relying on the inheritance relationship among classes, our technique can extract a maximum of n times more object usage scenarios from p, where n is the average inheritance depth of all object usage scenarios in p.In order to investigate the effect of our technique on mining protocols, we implement it in our previous prototype tool ISpecMiner and use the tool to mine protocols from several real-world applications. The experimental results show that our technique is promising to achieve complete and precise API protocols. In addition, protocols of classes that have not been used in programs can be also achieved, which is helpful for program documentation and understanding. | 2015 | Mining Class Temporal Specification Dynamically Based on Extended Markov ModelabstractClass temporal specification is a kind of important program specifications especially for object-oriented programs, which specifies that interface methods of a class should be called in a particular sequence. Currently, most existing approaches mine this kind of specifications based on finite state automaton. Observed that finite state automaton is a kind of deterministic models with inability to tolerate noise. In this paper, we propose to mine class temporal specifications relying on a probabilistic model extending from Markov chain. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first work of learning specifications from object-oriented programs dynamically based on probabilistic models. Different from similar works, our technique does not require annotating programs. Additionally, it learns specifications in an online mode, which can refine existing models continuously. Above all, we talk about problems regarding noise and connectivity of mined models and a strategy of computing thresholds is proposed to resolve them. To investigate our technique's feasibility and effectiveness, we implemented our technique in a prototype tool ISpecMiner and used it to conduct several experiments. Results of the experiments show that our technique can deal with noise effectively and useful specifications can be learned. Furthermore, our method of computing thresholds provides a strong assurance for mined models to be connected. Deng Chen, Rubing Huang, Binbin Qu, Jianping Ju |
