1986 End-to-End Probability of Undetected Error in Computer Networks
abstract
The occurrence of undetected error during packet transmission in a computer network can potentially lead to faulty network operations. Presented here is a Markov analysis of the probability of undetected error on an end-to end basis. A practical rule-of-thumb is also derived.

1985 The Integrity of Data Delivery in Computer Networks
abstract
This correspondence deals with the problem of undetected packet misdelivery in computer networks as a result of node failures. Techniques for reducing its chance of occurrence are discussed.
