| 2025 | CharaConsist: Fine-Grained Consistent Character GenerationabstractIn text-to-image generation, producing a series of consistent contents that preserve the same identity is highly valuable for real-world applications. Although a few works have explored training-free methods to enhance the consistency of generated subjects, we observe that they suffer from the following problems. First, they fail to maintain consistent background details, which limits their applicability. Furthermore, when the foreground character undergoes large motion variations, inconsistencies in identity and clothing details become evident. To address these problems, we propose CharaConsist, which employs point-tracking attention and adaptive token merge along with decoupled control of the foreground and background. CharaConsist enables fine-grained consistency for both foreground and background, supporting the generation of one character in continuous shots within a fixed scene or in discrete shots across different scenes. Moreover, CharaConsist is the first consistent generation method tailored for text-to-image DiT model. Its ability to maintain fine-grained consistency, combined with the larger capacity of latest base model, enables it to produce high-quality visual outputs, broadening its applicability to a wider range of real-world scenarios. | 2024 | Segment Anything with Precise InteractionabstractAlthough the Segment Anything Model (SAM) has achieved impressive results in many segmentation tasks and benchmarks, its performance noticeably deteriorates when applied to high-resolution images for high-precision segmentation, limiting it's usage in many real-world applications. In this work, we explored transferring SAM into the domain of high-resolution images and proposed Pi-SAM. Compared to the original SAM and its variants, Pi-SAM demonstrates the following superiorities: Firstly, Pi-SAM possesses a strong perception capability for the extremely fine details in high-resolution images, enabling it to generate high-precision segmentation masks. As a result,Pi-SAM significantly surpasses previous methods in four high-resolution datasets. Secondly, Pi-SAM supports more precise user interactions. In addition to the native promptable ability of SAM, Pi-SAM allows users to interactively refine the segmentation predictions simply by clicking. While the original SAM fails to achieve this on high-resolution images. Thirdly, building upon SAM, Pi-SAM introduces very few additional parameters and computational costs and ensures highly efficient model fine-tuning to achieve the above performance. | 2023 | SegRefiner: Towards Model-Agnostic Segmentation Refinement with Discrete Diffusion ProcessabstractIn this paper, we explore a principal way to enhance the quality of object masks produced by different segmentation models. We propose a model-agnostic solution called SegRefiner, which offers a novel perspective on this problem by interpreting segmentation refinement as a data generation process. As a result, the refinement process can be smoothly implemented through a series of denoising diffusion steps. Specifically, SegRefiner takes coarse masks as inputs and refines them using a discrete diffusion process. By predicting the label and corresponding states-transition probabilities for each pixel, SegRefiner progressively refines the noisy masks in a conditional denoising manner. To assess the effectiveness of SegRefiner, we conduct comprehensive experiments on various segmentation tasks, including semantic segmentation, instance segmentation, and dichotomous image segmentation. The results demonstrate the superiority of our SegRefiner from multiple aspects. Firstly, it consistently improves both the segmentation metrics and boundary metrics across different types of coarse masks. Secondly, it outperforms previous model-agnostic refinement methods by a significant margin. Lastly, it exhibits a strong capability to capture extremely fine details when refining high-resolution images.
