2021 Multi-Scale Separable Network for Ultra-High-Definition Video Deblurring
abstract
Although recent research has witnessed a significant progress on the video deblurring task, these methods struggle to reconcile inference efficiency and visual quality simultaneously, especially on ultra-high-definition (UHD) videos (e.g., 4K resolution). To address the problem, we propose a novel deep model for fast and accurate UHD Video Deblurring (UHDVD). The proposed UHDVD is achieved by a separable-patch architecture, which collaborates with a multi-scale integration scheme to achieve a large receptive field without adding the number of generic convolutional layers and kernels. Additionally, we design a residual channel-spatial attention (RCSA) module to improve accuracy and reduce the depth of the network appropriately. The proposed UHDVD is the first real-time deblurring model for 4K videos at 35 fps. To train the proposed model, we build a new dataset comprised of 4K blurry videos and corresponding sharp frames using three different smartphones. Comprehensive experimental results show that our network performs favorably against the state-of-the-art methods on both the 4K dataset and public benchmarks in terms of accuracy, speed, and model size.

2019 Face Video Deblurring Using 3D Facial Priors
abstract
Existing face deblurring methods only consider single frames and do not account for facial structure and identity information. These methods struggle to deblur face videos that exhibit significant pose variations and misalignment. In this paper we propose a novel face video deblurring network capitalizing on 3D facial priors. The model consists of two main branches: i) a face video deblurring sub-network based on an encoder-decoder architecture, and ii) a 3D face reconstruction and rendering branch for predicting 3D priors of salient facial structures and identity knowledge. These structures encourage the deblurring branch to generate sharp faces with detailed structures. Our method not only uses low-level information (i.e., image intensity), but also middle-level information (i.e., 3D facial structure) and high-level knowledge (i.e., identity content) to further explore spatial constraints of facial components from blurry face frames. Extensive experimental results demonstrate that the proposed algorithm performs favorably against the state-of-the-art methods.

2016 Segmentation of light field image with the structure tensor
abstract
We propose a segmentation model for light field images based on superpixels segmentation and graph-cuts algorithm. Unlike traditional images, which do not offer information for different directions, a light field image encodes space data which can be computed on its epipolar plane images (EPI) with some effective methods. In our work, we analyze the structure of EPI and research the computational process of disparity using EPI. On this basis, we present a new method for computing disparity using the modified structure tensor on EPIs. We further apply the computed disparity labels by fusing RGB images and disparity labels to obtain more detailed over-segmentation. Meanwhile, the modified structure tensor algorithm is used to get more accurate image boundaries, which plays a role in computing disparity features. All these processes are applied in an interactive segmentation model. Our experiments on public data sets demonstrate that the proposed light field image segmentation achieves a higher performance compared with state-of-the-art methods.
