2025 DroughtSet: Understanding Drought Through Spatial-Temporal Learning
abstract
Drought is one of the most destructive and expensive natural disasters, severely impacting natural resources and risks by depleting water resources and diminishing agricultural yields. Under climate change, accurately predicting drought is critical for mitigating drought-induced risks. However, the intricate interplay among the physical and biological drivers that regulate droughts limits the predictability and understanding of drought, particularly at a subseasonal to seasonal (S2S) time scale. While deep learning has demonstrated the potential to address climate forecasting challenges, its application to drought prediction has received relatively less attention. In this work, we propose a new dataset, DroughtSet, which integrates relevant predictive features and three drought indices from multiple remote sensing and reanalysis datasets across the contiguous United States (CONUS). DroughtSet specifically provides the machine learning community with a new real-world dataset to benchmark drought prediction models and more generally, time-series forecasting methods. Furthermore, we propose a spatial-temporal model SPDrought to predict and interpret S2S droughts. Our model learns from the spatial and temporal information of physical and biological features to predict three types of droughts simultaneously. Multiple strategies are employed to quantify the importance of physical and biological features for drought prediction. Our results provide insights for researchers to better understand the predictability and sensitivity of drought to biological and physical conditions. We aim to contribute to the climate field by proposing a new tool to predict and understand the occurrence of droughts and provide the AI community with a new benchmark to study deep learning applications in climate science.

2024 PIRAP: Data Crawling and Internet of Things-Based Opportunity and Challenge Analysis of Migrant Workers' Entrepreneurship Based on Rural Revitalization Environment
abstract
The main obstacles to migrant workers starting businesses when they return to their hometowns are their own lack of financial literacy and aptitude, a lack of sufficient venture capital, and inadequate financing options. This paper conducts an analysis of the opportunities and challenges under the rural revitalization environment in conjunction with the Internet of Things Technology, through which a migrant labor entrepreneurship analysis platform is built. Data crawling technology is applied to capture internet data resources related to innovative entrepreneurship in the data collection module, and the entrepreneurship data is processed by the Internet of Things Technology. Based on the research, the approach suggested in this paper has its benefits for analyzing the opportunities and difficulties that migrant workers encounter in a rural revitalization context, in order to finally provide some theoretical support for pertinent research.

2022 DVO + LCLMF: A web service recommendation mechanism with QoS privacy preservation
abstract
Abstract QoS‐aware based web service recommendation is one of the crucial solutions to help users find high‐quality web services. To accurately predict the QoS values of candidate services, it is usually required to collect historical QoS data of users (QoS data for short). If these collected QoS data are improperly processed, QoS data privacy may be threatened. However, how to accurately predict the QoS values of candidate services while protecting QoS data privacy has not been well studied. In response to the situation, we propose a hybrid web service recommendation mechanism, which is divided into three parts. In the first part, the QoS data privacy preservation algorithm, which called DVO, is proposed based on keeping the cosine similarity of QoS data unchanged, that is, to realize the confusion of QoS data while ensuring the availability of QoS data remains unchanged. In the second part, a hybrid matrix factorization model based on location information and service features, which called LCLMF, is proposed to improve the accuracy of QoS values prediction. According to DVO and LCLMF, the DVO + LCLMF is designed in the third part, which can accurately predict QoS values while protecting QoS data privacy. The experimental results show that DVO + LCLMF can accurately predict the QoS values of candidate services on the basis of attaining QoS data privacy protection.
