| 2025 | Prompt2DAG: A Modular Prompting Approach for Democratizing Data Pipeline GenerationabstractBuilding robust data pipelines often requires spe-cialized engineering skills, creating barriers for domain experts with limited coding expertise. We introduce Prompt2DAG, a modular prompting methodology that transforms natural language descriptions into executable Apache Airflow workflows by decomposing generation into three sequential stages: structured analysis, configuration generation, and code implementation. This approach aligns with established software engineering principles of separation of concerns and progressive refinement. Our evalu-ation across five different LLMs demonstrates that Prompt2DAG significantly outperforms conventional end-to-end generation, im-proving code quality (+78.4 %) and structural integrity (+43.2 %) of generated pipelines. Using a data enrichment case study, we show how this approach enables the development of high-quality workflows through natural language, effectively democratizing data pipeline development. | 2018 | An Approach to Checking the Consistency of Utility-defined Substation Engineering Data in IEC 61850 SCLabstractPower grid systems are undergoing a rapid evolution globally towards the attainment of a smart grid system. Power substations, which distribute power locally from the power plant to the customer through the transmission and distribution system, are electrically connected to each other in order to maintain the power generation and the load utilization. To ensure stable operation, protection, surveillance and control systems are installed at each substation facility, and gradually all these systems are evolving towards smart functions. With the introduction of the IEC 61850 standard in the electric power sector, the digitization and automation of substation protection, surveillance, and control systems has been progressing at a faster rate than other standards. As the substation engineering and operating environment is being changed from traditional H/W based control cable terminal connection to S/W based information model mapping, existing engineers are now facing difficulty in operating and testing the due to the change from traditional analog working environment to the digital environment. In this paper, we propose a method to perform System configuration description Language (SCL) verification based on S/W using substation engineering data. The proposed method would help substation engineers to enable ease in configuration, operation, troubleshooting and testing in digital substation environment. | 2017 | Spatio-Temporal Opportunistic Spectrum Sharing between Rotating Radar and Cellular NetworksabstractSpectrum sharing is an elegant solution to the problem of spectrum scarcity. A novel advanced approach is developed in this study to enable power-controlled cellular networks coexist with primary rotating radars. A canonical scenario is considered where a single cellular BS interferes with single rotating radar. A new mathematical model is also developed using log-normal approximations to capture the aggregate interference from multiple power-controlled cellular systems. The cellular system transmits at high power for over 83.3% of time due to the slow radar antenna rotation and narrow main beam width. Our numerical results show that the power control drastically reduces the required separation distances between the two systems. The log-normal approximation gives results which virtually match the results of our simulation. Raymond Sabogu-Sumah, Alidu Abubakari, Ernest Edwin Ahiagbe, Han-Shin Jo |

| 2016 | Coexistence of Power-Controlled Cellular Networks With Rotating RadarabstractIn this paper, we study spectral coexistence between rotating radar and power-controlled cellular networks in radar bands. For two systems to spectrally coexist, they must be able to operate effectively without causing harmful electromagnetic interference to each other. Very short radar-cellular system separation distances are required during 83.3% of time due to the narrow main beam width of the rotational radar antenna. We propose a spatio-temporal analytical approach with adaptive base station (BS) power control for adjacent spectrum sharing between the two systems. We develop a new model for the aggregate interference from power-controlled cellular BSs using log-normal approximation. The cellular system is allowed to transmit at high power when the radar antenna's main beam is pointing elsewhere from it. On the other hand, the cellular system reduces its transmit power only for a short period when the radar directional antenna main beam is pointing toward it. We use the degradation of the radar signal-to-interference plus noise ratio and cellular outage probability as our performance metrics. Numerical results show that power control of cellular BS highly reduces separation distance between the BS and radar, while yielding marginal degradation of outage performance. In addition, the mathematical results given by the log-normal approximation closely follow our simulated results. Detail system level assessments and investigations are presented to comprehensively understand secondary access to this band opportunistically. Raymond Sabogu-Sumah, Alidu Abubakari, Han-Shin Jo |
