| 2026 | STMI: Segmentation-Guided Token Modulation with Cross-Modal Hypergraph Interaction for Multi-Modal Object Re-IdentificationabstractMulti-modal object Re-Identification (ReID) aims to exploit complementary information from different modalities to retrieve specific objects. However, existing methods often rely on hard token filtering or simple fusion strategies, which can lead to the loss of discriminative cues and increased background interference. To address these challenges, we propose STMI, a novel multi-modal learning framework consisting of three key components: (1) Segmentation-Guided Feature Modulation (SFM) module leverages SAM-generated masks to enhance foreground representations and suppress background noise through learnable attention modulation; (2) Semantic Token Reallocation (STR) module employs learnable query tokens and an adaptive reallocation mechanism to extract compact and informative representations without discarding any tokens; (3) Cross-Modal Hypergraph Interaction (CHI) module constructs a unified hypergraph across modalities to capture high-order semantic relationships. Extensive experiments on public benchmarks (i.e., RGBNT201, RGBNT100, and MSVR310) demonstrate the effectiveness and robustness of our proposed STMI framework in multi-modal ReID scenarios. | 2026 | Ultra-High-Definition Image Restoration: New Benchmarks and a Dual Interaction Prior-Driven SolutionabstractUltra-High-Definition (UHD) image restoration has acquired remarkable attention due to its practical demand. In this paper, we construct UHD snow and rain benchmarks, named UHD-Snow and UHD-Rain, to remedy the deficiency in this field. The UHD-Snow/UHD-Rain is established by simulating the physics process of rain/snow into consideration and each benchmark contains 3200 degraded/clear image pairs of 4K resolution. Furthermore, we propose an effective UHD image restoration solution by considering gradient and normal priors in model design, thanks to these priors’ spatial and detail contributions. Specifically, our method contains two branches: (a) feature fusion and reconstruction branch in high-resolution space and (b) prior feature interaction branch in low-resolution space. The former learns high-resolution features and fuses prior-guided low-resolution features to reconstruct clear images, while the latter utilizes normal and gradient priors to mine useful spatial features and detail features to guide high-resolution recovery better. To better utilize these priors, we introduce single prior feature interaction and dual prior feature interaction, where the former respectively fuses normal and gradient priors with high-resolution features to enhance prior ones, while the latter calculates the similarity between enhanced prior ones and further exploits dual guided filtering to boost the feature interaction of dual priors. We conduct experiments on both new and existing public datasets and demonstrate the state-of-the-art performance of our method on UHD image low-light enhancement, dehazing, deblurring, desnowing, and deraining. | 2026 | Multi-Modal Object Re-Identification With Prompt-S6 and Semantic-Aware Knowledge GuidanceabstractMulti-modal object Re-Identification (ReID) aims to retrieve specific objects by integrating complementary information from multiple modalities. However, existing multi-modal ReID methods do not effectively address background interference suppression or achieve tri-modal alignment, instead focusing on pairwise feature fusion. Moreover, many current aggregation approaches suffer from high computational complexity. To address these limitations, we propose PRISM, a novel multi-modal ReID framework built upon Prompt-S6 (PS6) and semantic-aware knowledge guidance. PS6 maintains the linear complexity and strong sequence modeling capability of Mamba while enabling efficient cross-modal interaction. Leveraging these advantages, we design two key components: Semantic-Driven Token Pruning (SDTP) and Progressive Fusion Network (PFN). Parsing semantic priors from the segmentation foundation models, the SDTP then leverages these priors and applies dynamic token pruning to suppress background noise and refine feature representations. The PFN progressively aggregates multi-modal features to achieve tri-modal alignment and fully exploit modality complementarity. With the proposed modules, PRISM generates more robust multi-modal representations under complex scenarios. Extensive experiments on four multi-modal object ReID benchmarks demonstrate the effectiveness and efficiency of our approach. The source code is available at https://github.com/zw-absin/PRISM. | 2025 | Large Language Models Often Say One Thing and Do AnotherabstractAs large language models (LLMs) increasingly become central to various applications and interact with diverse user populations, ensuring their reliable and consistent performance is becoming more important. This paper explores a critical issue in assessing the reliability of LLMs: the consistency between their words and deeds. To quantitatively explore this consistency, we developed a novel evaluation benchmark called the Words and Deeds Consistency Test (WDCT). The benchmark establishes a strict correspondence between word-based and deed-based questions across different domains, including opinion vs. action, non-ethical value vs. action, ethical value vs. action, and theory vs. application. The evaluation results reveal a widespread inconsistency between words and deeds across different LLMs and domains. Subsequently, we conducted experiments with either word alignment or deed alignment to observe their impact on the other aspect. The experimental results indicate that alignment only on words or deeds poorly and unpredictably influences the other aspect. This supports our hypothesis that the underlying knowledge guiding LLMs' word or deed choices is not contained within a unified space. Dataset and code are available at [https://github.com/icip-cas/Word-Deed-Consistency-Test](https://github.com/icip-cas/Word-Deed-Consistency-Test). | 2024 | Event-Triggered Optimal Tracking Control for Underactuated Surface Vessels via Neural Reinforcement LearningabstractThis article presents a prescribed-time tracking control method for underactuated unmanned surface vessels (USVs) using a neural reinforcement learning (RL) approach. First, the hand position approach, addressing the underactuated characteristic, is employed to convert the model of USV into the integral cascade form. Second, inheriting the advantages of prescribed performance control (PPC), the proposed controller not only stabilizes the tracking error within an asymmetric prescribed-time range, but also removes the limitation of initial conditions. Subsequently, the identifier—actor-critic architecture is introduced in the optimized backstepping design, which gives the solution of the Hamilton–Jacobi–Bellman (HJB) equation. Meanwhile, the relative threshold event-triggered mechanism is also considered to reduce the communication burden and executive frequency of actuators. Finally, employing the Lyapunov stability theory, it is proven that all signals in the closed-loop system are bounded, and the developed control scheme is demonstrated to be effective through simulation and experimental results. | 2023 | Event-Triggered Approximate Optimal Path-Following Control for Unmanned Surface Vehicles With State ConstraintsabstractThis article investigates the problem of path following for the underactuated unmanned surface vehicles (USVs) subject to state constraints. A useful control algorithm is proposed by combining the backstepping technique, adaptive dynamic programming (ADP), and the event-triggered mechanism. The presented approach consists of three modules: guidance law, dynamic controller, and event triggering. First, to deal with the "singularity" problem, the guidance-based path-following (GBPF) principle is introduced in the guidance law loop. In contrast to the traditional barrier Lyapunov function (BLF) method, this article converts the USV's constraint model to a class of nonlinear systems without state constraints by introducing a nonlinear mapping. The control signal generated by the dynamic controller module consists of a backstepping-based feedforward control signal and an ADP-based approximate optimal feedback control signal. Therefore, the presented scheme can guarantee the approximate optimal performance. To approximate the cost function and its partial derivative, a critic neural network (NN) is constructed. By considering the event-triggered condition, the dynamic controller is further improved. Compared with traditional time-triggered control methods, the proposed approach can greatly reduce communication and computational burdens. This article proves that the closed-loop system is stable, and the simulation results and experimental validation are given to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed approach.
