2026 Earth-Adapter: Bridge the Geospatial Domain Gaps with a Frequency-Guided Mixture of Adapters
abstract
Vision Foundation Models (VFMs), while powerful, often struggle in Remote Sensing (RS) segmentation tasks when combined with existing Parameter-Efficient Fine-Tuning (PEFT) methods. We observe that this limitation primarily arises from their inability to effectively handle the pervasive artifacts in RS imagery. To address this, we introduce Earth-Adapter, the first PEFT method specifically designed for RS artifact mitigation. Earth-Adapter introduces a novel Frequency-Guided Mixture of Adapters (MoA) approach, structured around a ''divide and conquer" strategy. It first utilizes Discrete Fourier Transformation (DFT) to "divide" features into distinct frequency components, thereby effectively isolating artifact-related information from semantic signals. Subsequently, to ''conquer" these artifact, MoA independently optimizes features within different subspaces and dynamically assigns weights via a router to aggregate the refined representations. This enables adaptive refinement of the VFM’s representation space to mitigate the impact of artifacts. This simple yet highly effective PEFT method demonstrably mitigates artifacts and significantly enhances VFMs performance on RS segmentation tasks. Extensive experiments demonstrate Earth-Adapter's effectiveness on in-domain semantic segmentation (SS), as well as Domain Adaptive (DA) and Domain Generalized (DG) semantic segmentation tasks. Compared with the baseline Rein, Earth-Adapter significantly improves mIoU by 1.2% in SS, 9.0% in DA, and 3.1% in DG benchmarks. Our code and weights will be released soon.

2025 Neural-Polyptych: Content Controllable Painting Recreation for Diverse Genres
abstract
To bridge the gap between artists and non-specialists, we present a unified framework, Neural-Polyptych, to facilitate the creation of expansive, high-resolution paintings by seamlessly incorporating interactive hand-drawn sketches with fragments from original paintings. We have designed a multi-scale GAN-based architecture to decompose the generation process into two parts, each responsible for identifying global and local features. To enhance the fidelity of semantic details generated from users' sketched outlines, we introduce a Correspondence Attention module utilizing our Reference Bank strategy. This ensures the creation of high-quality, intricately detailed elements within the artwork. The final result is achieved by carefully blending these local elements while preserving coherent global consistency. Consequently, this methodology enables the production of digital paintings at megapixel scale, accommodating diverse artistic expressions and enabling users to recreate content in a controlled manner. We validate our approach to diverse genres of both Eastern and Western paintings. Applications such as large painting extension, texture shuffling, genre switching, mural art restoration, and recomposition can be successfully based on our framework.

2025 Multimodal Visual-Language Prompt Network for Remote Sensing Few-Shot Segmentation
abstract
Few-shot segmentation (FSS) aims to segment objects of interest in a query image using a limited set of support images. However, most existing FSS methods are designed for natural images. When extended to remote sensing scenes characterized by extreme intra-class variations and complex backgrounds, these methods struggle to provide robust segmentation guidance, leading to severe performance degradation. To address the aforementioned issues, we propose a multimodal visual-language prompt network (MVLPNet), which employs a collaborative optimization strategy for visual-textual features to tackle the remote sensing FSS task. Specifically, MVLPNet consists of a textual-visual consistency enhancement (TVCE) module and a prototype-guided semantic alignment (PGSA) module. To overcome the limited support set for better guiding the query segmentation, we propose a TVCE module that leverages the contrastive language-image pre-training model (CLIP) to capture category-specific text embeddings. An optimal transport (OT) plan is then established to tightly align these text embeddings with the visual features of query image, thereby extracting semantic information from the query image itself to mitigate the extreme intra-class variation in remote sensing images. Furthermore, a PGSA module is proposed to suppress interference caused by complex background regions. By aggregating lost foreground regions, more comprehensive support features are extracted. Then, the query and support features are precisely matched to activate consistent foreground regions, rather than ambiguously matching the query features via a single prototype or multiple prototypes. Extensive experiments on the iSAID-5i and LoveDA-2i datasets have demonstrated that our method achieves the state of the art. The code is available https://github.com/Gritiii/MVLPNet.

2025 FSDA-DETR: Few-Shot Domain-Adaptive Object Detection Transformer in Remote Sensing Imagery
abstract
Few-shot domain adaptive object detection (FSDAOD) aims to transfer knowledge from a source domain to a target domain with limited labeled data, which faces severe challenges in the field of remote sensing. To address this issue, numerous CNN-based domain adaptation methods employ style transfer and feature alignment to mitigate domain shifts, but limited target domain samples are prone to yielding equivocal optimization and are maladaptive. Furthermore, the sparsity of targets and the complexity of backgrounds in remote sensing imagery contribute to confusing feature alignment. Moreover, DETR-based detectors have achieved remarkable progress in unsupervised domain adaptation (UDA) but remain unexplored in FSDAOD. To address these challenges, we introduce FSDA-DETR, the first DETR-based strong baseline designed for the FSDAOD of remote sensing imagery. Specifically, we propose a cross-domain style rectification (CSR) module that rectifies the styles of the target domain to align with the source domain by storing and dynamically updating the weighted-fusion source domain style bases. To further strengthen the detector’s cross-domain detection performance, we propose a category-aware feature alignment (CFA) module that performs fine-grained masking on object regions of rectified backbone features corresponding to different categories and utilizes adversarial training for domain-invariant feature extraction. Extensive experiments on three cross-domain benchmarks, comprising six diverse datasets, demonstrate that FSDA-DETR outperforms state-of-the-art methods. For instance, in the Optical-to-SAR benchmark, FSDA-DETR achieves 74.5% mAP with only 1% of target domain training data. The code and datasets are available at https://github.com/wsybb252237/FSDA-DETR.

2025 DATR: Unsupervised Domain Adaptive Detection Transformer With Dataset-Level Adaptation and Prototypical Alignment
abstract
With the success of the DEtection TRansformer (DETR), numerous researchers have explored its effectiveness in addressing unsupervised domain adaptation tasks. Existing methods leverage carefully designed feature alignment techniques to align the backbone or encoder, yielding promising results. However, effectively aligning instance-level features within the unique decoder structure of the detector has largely been neglected. Related techniques primarily align instance-level features in a class-agnostic manner, overlooking distinctions between features from different categories, which results in only limited improvements. Furthermore, the scope of current alignment modules in the decoder is often restricted to a limited batch of images, failing to capture the dataset-level cues, thereby severely constraining the detector's generalization ability to the target domain. To this end, we introduce a strong DETR-based detector named Domain Adaptive detection TRansformer (DATR) for unsupervised domain adaptation of object detection. First, we propose the Class-wise Prototypes Alignment (CPA) module, which effectively aligns cross-domain features in a class-aware manner by bridging the gap between the object detection task and the domain adaptation task. Then, the designed Dataset-level Alignment Scheme (DAS) explicitly guides the detector to achieve global representation and enhance inter-class distinguishability of instance-level features across the entire dataset, which spans both domains, by leveraging contrastive learning. Moreover, DATR incorporates a mean-teacher-based self-training framework, utilizing pseudo-labels generated by the teacher model to further mitigate domain bias. Extensive experimental results demonstrate superior performance and generalization capabilities of our proposed DATR in multiple domain adaptation scenarios. Code is released at https://github.com/h751410234/DATR.

2024 Remote Sensing Teacher: Cross-Domain Detection Transformer With Learnable Frequency-Enhanced Feature Alignment in Remote Sensing Imagery
abstract
Unsupervised Domain Adaptation (UDA) is critical for remote sensing object detection in real applications, aiming to address the significant performance degradation issue caused by the domain gap between source and target domain. This method achieves cross-domain alignment by leveraging the unlabeled target domain data, thus avoiding the expensive annotation cost. However, existing works mainly cope with CNN-based object detectors, which are characterized by complex adversarial learning architecture and fail to accurately align the features in remote sensing images with sparsely allocated objects and inevitable background noise. Compared to CNN-based methods, the DEtection TRansformer (DETR) largely simplifies the object detection pipeline and demonstrates the great potential by its intrinsic characteristics of global relation modeling between any pixels. On this basis, we propose the first strong DETR-based baseline, Remote Sensing Teacher, for unsupervised domain adaptation in remote sensing object detection. Specifically, the Remote Sensing Teacher introduces an innovative Learnable Frequency-enhanced feature Alignment (LFA) module. Within this module, we initially transform the features into frequency space to simplify the attention solver and effectively capture domain-specific information. Subsequently, the module significantly enhances the global feature representations of sparsely allocated objects by using a lightweight attention mechanism. Following this, the module incorporates learnable filters with a gated mechanism, enabling selective alignment of features in noisy backgrounds. Additionally, the Remote Sensing Teacher employs a Self-adaptive Pseudo label Assigner (SPA) that can automatically adjust the class-wise confidence threshold according to the model’s learning status, thereby enabling the generation of high-quality pseudo-labels in scenarios with a long-tailed distribution. Leveraging these pseudo-labels further mitigates the domain bias of the detector by establishing alignment at the label level. Extensive experimental results demonstrate superior performance and generalization capabilities of our proposed Remote Sensing Teacher in multiple remote sensing adaptation scenarios. Code is released at https://github.com/h751410234/RemoteSensingTeacher.

2021 Remote sensing target tracking in satellite videos based on a variable-angle-adaptive Siamese network
abstract
Abstract Remote sensing target tracking in satellite videos plays a key role in various fields. However, due to the complex backgrounds of satellite video sequences and many rotation changes of highly dynamic targets, typical target tracking methods for natural scenes cannot be used directly for such tasks, and their robustness and accuracy are difficult to guarantee. To address these problems, an algorithm is proposed for remote sensing target tracking in satellite videos based on a variable‐angle‐adaptive Siamese network (VAASN). Specifically, the method is based on the fully convolutional Siamese network (Siamese‐FC). First, for the feature extraction stage, to reduce the impact of complex backgrounds, we present a new multifrequency feature representation method and introduce the octave convolution (OctConv) into the AlexNet architecture to adapt to the new feature representation. Then, for the tracking stage, to adapt to changes in target rotation, a variable‐angle‐adaptive module that uses a fast text detector with a single deep neural network (TextBoxes++) is introduced to extract angle information from the template frame and detection frames and performs angle consistency update operations on the detection frames. Finally, qualitative and quantitative experiments using satellite datasets show that the proposed method can improve tracking accuracy while achieving high efficiency.
