2026 LLM-Oriented Token-Adaptive Knowledge Distillation
abstract
Knowledge Distillation (KD) is a key technique for compressing Large-scale Language Models (LLMs), but prevailing logit-based methods employ static strategies misaligned with the student’s dynamic learning process. By treating all tokens indiscriminately with a fixed temperature, these methods result in suboptimal knowledge transfer. To address this, we propose LLM-oriented token-Adaptive Knowledge Distillation (AdaKD), a framework that adapts the distillation process to each token’s real-time learning state. AdaKD consists of two synergistic modules driven by a unified token difficulty metric. First, the Loss-driven Adaptive Token Focusing (LATF) module dynamically concentrates distillation on valuable tokens by monitoring the student’s learning stability. Second, Inverse Difficulty Temperature Scaling (IDTS) introduces a counterintuitive token-level temperature: low for difficult tokens to target error correction, and high for easy tokens to learn the teacher’s smooth output distribution for better generalization. As a plug-and-play framework, AdaKD consistently improves performance across diverse distillation methods, model architectures, and benchmarks.

2026 Open-Vocabulary SAM3D: Towards Training-Free Open-Vocabulary 3D Scene Understanding
abstract
Open-vocabulary 3D scene understanding presents a significant challenge in the field. Recent works have sought to transfer knowledge embedded in vision-language models from 2D to 3D domains. However, these approaches often require prior knowledge from specific 3D scene datasets, limiting their applicability in open-world scenarios. The Segment Anything Model (SAM) has demonstrated remarkable zero-shot segmentation capabilities, prompting us to investigate its potential for comprehending 3D scenes without training. In this paper, we introduce OV-SAM3D, a training-free method that contains a universal framework for understanding open-vocabulary 3D scenes. This framework is designed to perform understanding tasks for any 3D scene without requiring prior knowledge of the scene. Specifically, our method is composed of two key sub-modules: First, we initiate the process by generating superpoints as the initial 3D prompts and refine these prompts using segment masks derived from SAM. Moreover, we then integrate a specially designed overlapping score table with open tags from the Recognize Anything Model (RAM) to produce final 3D instances with open-world labels. Empirical evaluations on the ScanNet200 and nuScenes datasets demonstrate that our approach surpasses existing open-vocabulary methods in unknown open-world environments. 2026 Semantic Frame Interpolation
abstract
Generating intermediate video content of varying lengths based on given first and last frames, along with text prompt information, offers significant research and application potential. However, traditional frame interpolation tasks primarily focus on scenarios with a small number of frames, no text control, and minimal differences between the first and last frames. Recent community developers have utilized large video models represented by Wan to endow frame-to-frame capabilities. However, these models can only generate a fixed number of frames and often fail to produce satisfactory results for certain frame lengths, while this setting lacks a clear official definition and a well-established benchmark. In this paper, we first propose a new practical Semantic Frame Interpolation (SFI) task from the perspective of academic definition, which covers the above two settings and supports inference at multiple frame rates. To achieve this goal, we propose a novel SemFi model building upon Wan2.1, which incorporates a Mixture-of-LoRA module to ensure the generation of high-consistency content that aligns with control conditions across various frame length limitations. Furthermore, we propose SFI-300K, the first general-purpose dataset and benchmark specifically designed for SFI. To support this, we collect and process data from the perspective of SFI, carefully designing evaluation metrics and methods to evaluate the performance of the model in multiple dimensions, including images and videos, and various aspects, including consistency and diversity. Through extensive experiments on SFI-300K, we demonstrate that our method is particularly well-suited to meet the requirements of the SFI task.

2026 FUGC: Benchmarking Semi-Supervised Learning Methods for Cervical Segmentation
abstract
Accurate segmentation of cervical structures in transvaginal ultrasound (TVS) is critical for assessing the risk of spontaneous preterm birth (PTB), yet the scarcity of labeled data limits the performance of supervised learning approaches. This paper introduces the Fetal Ultrasound Grand Challenge (FUGC), the first benchmark for semi-supervised learning in cervical segmentation, hosted at ISBI 2025. FUGC provides a dataset of 890 TVS images, including 500 training images, 90 validation images, and 300 test images. Methods were evaluated using the Dice Similarity Coefficient (DSC), Hausdorff Distance (HD), and runtime (RT), with a weighted combination of 0.4/0.4/0.2. The challenge attracted 10 teams with 82 participants submitting innovative solutions. The best-performing methods for each individual metric achieved 90.26% mDSC, 38.88 mHD, and 32.85 ms RT, respectively. FUGC establishes a standardized benchmark for cervical segmentation, demonstrates the efficacy of semi-supervised methods with limited labeled data, and provides a foundation for AI-assisted clinical PTB risk assessment.

2026 MambaGesture2: Co-Speech Gesture Generation via Hierarchical Fusion and Spatiotemporal Aggregation
abstract
Co-speech gesture generation plays a vital role in producing synchronized and natural human gestures, thereby enhancing the realism of avatars in virtual environments. Although diffusion models have shown strong generative capabilities, their combination with transformer-based architectures often incurs high computational costs due to the quadratic complexity of self-attention. Moreover, as a temporal sequence modeling task, existing methods frequently struggle to effectively capture multi-scale temporal dynamics inherent in speech and gesture signals. To address these challenges, we propose MambaGesture2, a novel framework that integrates a Mamba-based denoising network, Hierarchical U-Net Gesture Mamba (HUG-Mamba), with a multimodal feature fusion module, SEAD. HUG-Mamba combines the efficient state-space modeling of Mamba blocks with the hierarchical sampling of the U-Net architecture, significantly improving temporal coherence and computational efficiency. We further introduce the Temporal-Stratified Fusion (TSF) module to capture diverse temporal scales via multi-scale learning, and the Spatial-Temporal Cascaded Aggregation (STCA) module to enhance spatial-temporal feature aggregation. Extensive experiments on the multi-modal BEAT2 and SHOW datasets demonstrate that our approach achieves state-of-the-art performance across multiple quantitative metrics, while substantially reducing model complexity and inference time. The results validate the effectiveness of our architectural innovations in generating diverse, realistic, and temporally consistent co-speech gestures. 2026 Learning Multi-View Anomaly Detection With Efficient Adaptive Selection
abstract
This study explores the recently proposed and challenging multi-view Anomaly Detection (AD) task. Single-view tasks will encounter blind spots from other perspectives, resulting in inaccuracies in sample-level prediction. Therefore, we introduce theMulti-ViewAnomalyDetection (MVAD) approach, which learns and integrates features from multi-views. Specifically, we propose aMulti-ViewAdaptiveSelection (MVAS) algorithm for feature learning and fusion across multiple views. The feature maps are divided into neighbourhood attention windows to calculate a semantic correlation matrix between single-view windows and all other views, which is an attention mechanism conducted for each single-view window and the top-$k$most correlated multi-view windows. Adjusting the window sizes and top-$k$can minimise the complexity to$O((hw)^\frac{4}{3})$. Extensive experiments on the Real-IAD dataset under the multi-class setting validate the effectiveness of our approach, achieving state-of-the-art performance with an average improvement of+2.5$\uparrow$across10 metricsat the sample/image/pixel levels, using only18Mparameters and requiring fewer FLOPs and training time. 2026 MARRS: Masked Autoregressive Unit-Based Reaction Synthesis
abstract
This work aims at a challenging task: human action reaction synthesis, i.e., generating human reactions conditioned on the action sequence of another person. Currently, autoregressive modeling approaches with vector quantization (VQ) have achieved remarkable performance in motion generation tasks. However, VQ has inherent disadvantages, including quantization information loss, low codebook utilization, etc. In addition, while dividing the body into separate units can be beneficial, the computational complexity needs to be considered. Also, the importance of mutual perception among units is often neglected. In this work, we propose MARRS, a novel framework designed to generate coordinated and fine-grained reaction motions us ing continuous representations. Initially, we present the Unit distinguished Motion Variational AutoEncoder (UD-VAE), which segments the entire body into distinct body and hand units, encoding each independently. Subsequently, we propose Action Conditioned Fusion (ACF), which involves randomly masking a subset of reactive tokens and extracting specific information about the body and hands from the active tokens. Furthermore, we introduce Mutual Unit Modulation (MUM) to facilitate interaction between body and hand units by using the information from one unit to adaptively modulate the other. Finally, for the diffusion model, we employ a compact MLP as a noise predictor for each distinct body unit and incorporate the diffusion loss to model the probability distribution of each token. Both quantitative and qualitative results demonstrate that our method achieves superior performance. The code will be released upon acceptance.

2025 ID-Sculpt: ID-aware 3D Head Generation from Single In-the-wild Portrait Image
abstract
While recent works have achieved great success on one-shot 3D common object generation, high quality and fidelity 3D head generation from a single image remains a great challenge. Previous text-based methods for generating 3D heads were limited by text descriptions and image-based methods struggled to produce high-quality head geometry. To handle this challenging problem, we propose a novel framework, ID-Sculpt, to generate high-quality 3D heads while preserving their identities. Our work incorporates the identity information of the portrait image into three parts: 1) geometry initialization, 2) geometry sculpting, and 3) texture generation stages. Given a reference portrait image, we first align the identity features with text features to realize ID-aware guidance enhancement, which contains the control signals representing the face information. We then use the canny map, ID features of the portrait image, and a pre-trained text-to-normal/depth diffusion model to generate ID-aware geometry supervision and 3D-GAN inversion is employed to generate ID-aware geometry initialization. Furthermore, with the ability to inject identity information into 3D head generation, we use ID-aware guidance to calculate ID-aware Score Distillation (ISD) for geometry sculpting. For texture generation, we adopt the ID Consistent Texture Inpainting and Refinement which progressively expands the view for texture inpainting to obtain an initialization UV texture map. We then use the id-aware guidance to provide image-level supervision for noisy multi-view images to obtain a refined texture map. Extensive experiments demonstrate that we can generate high-quality 3D heads with accurate geometry and texture from a single in-the-wild portrait image.

2025 PointRWKV: Efficient RWKV-Like Model for Hierarchical Point Cloud Learning
abstract
Transformers have revolutionized the point cloud learning task, but the quadratic complexity hinders its extension to long sequence and makes a burden on limited computational resources. The recent advent of RWKV, a fresh breed of deep sequence models, has shown immense potential for sequence modeling in NLP tasks. In this paper, we present PointRWKV, a model of linear complexity derived from the RWKV model in the NLP field with necessary modifications for point cloud learning tasks. Specifically, taking the embedded point patches as input, we first propose to explore the global processing capabilities within PointRWKV blocks using modified multi-headed matrix-valued states and a dynamic attention recurrence mechanism. To extract local geometric features simultaneously, we design a parallel branch to encode the point cloud efficiently in a fixed radius near-neighbors graph with a graph stabilizer. Furthermore, we design PointRWKV as a multi-scale framework for hierarchical feature learning of 3D point clouds, facilitating various downstream tasks. Extensive experiments on different point cloud learning tasks show our proposed PointRWKV outperforms the transformer- and mamba-based counterparts, while significantly saving about 42\% FLOPs, demonstrating the potential option for constructing foundational 3D models.

2025 Explore In-Context Segmentation via Latent Diffusion Models
abstract
In-context segmentation has drawn increasing attention with the advent of vision foundation models. Its goal is to segment objects using given reference images. Most existing approaches adopt metric learning or masked image modeling to build the correlation between visual prompts and input image queries. This work approaches the problem from a fresh perspective - unlocking the capability of the latent diffusion model (LDM) for in-context segmentation and investigating different design choices. Specifically, we examine the problem from three angles: instruction extraction, output alignment, and meta-architectures. We design a two-stage masking strategy to prevent interfering information from leaking into the instructions. In addition, we propose an augmented pseudo-masking target to ensure the model predicts without forgetting the original images. Moreover, we build a new and fair in-context segmentation benchmark that covers both image and video datasets. Experiments validate the effectiveness of our approach, demonstrating comparable or even stronger results than previous specialist or visual foundation models. We hope our work inspires others to rethink the unification of segmentation and generation.

2025 Point Cloud Mamba: Point Cloud Learning via State Space Model
abstract
Recently, state space models have exhibited strong global modeling capabilities and linear computational complexity in contrast to transformers. This research focuses on applying such architecture to more efficiently and effectively model point cloud data globally with linear computational complexity. In particular, for the first time, we demonstrate that Mamba-based point cloud methods can outperform previous methods based on transformer or multi-layer perceptrons (MLPs). To enable Mamba to process 3-D point cloud data more effectively, we propose a novel Consistent Traverse Serialization method to convert point clouds into 1-D point sequences while ensuring that neighboring points in the sequence are also spatially adjacent. Consistent Traverse Serialization yields six variants by permuting the order of x, y, and z coordinates, and the synergistic use of these variants aids Mamba in comprehensively observing point cloud data. Furthermore, to assist Mamba in handling point sequences with different orders more effectively, we introduce point prompts to inform Mamba of the sequence’s arrangement rules. Finally, we propose positional encoding based on spatial coordinate mapping to inject positional information into point cloud sequences more effectively. Point Cloud Mamba surpasses the state-of-the-art (SOTA) point-based method PointNeXt and achieves new SOTA performance on the ScanObjectNN, ModelNet40, ShapeNetPart, and S3DIS datasets. It is worth mentioning that when using a more powerful local feature extraction module, our PCM achieves 79.6 mIoU on S3DIS, significantly surpassing the previous SOTA models, DeLA and PTv3, by 5.5 mIoU and 4.9 mIoU, respectively.

2025 Deep Learning-based ENT Endoscopy Image Classification: A Technical Report for ENTRep 2025 Challenge
abstract
ENT (Ear, Nose, and Throat) endoscopic imaging plays a crucial role in the diagnosis and treatment planning of a wide range of head and neck disorders, yet remains underrepresented in the development of automated image analysis methods. While endoscopic image classification has been extensively explored in various anatomical domains, limited attention has been paid to the ear, nose, and throat (ENT) region. To address this gap, we conduct a systematic study on ENT endoscopy image classification, motivated by our 3rdplace solution in the ENTRep Challenge at ACM Multimedia 2025. We train a total of 190 models, spanning 19 representative architectures from both convolutional neural networks (CNNs) and vision transformers (ViTs), under a 10-fold cross-validation setting. In addition, we propose a selective ensemble strategy, which achieves improved classification performance with reduced computational cost. Additionally, we provide an empirical analysis of training strategies, including the effects of pretraining and data augmentation, offering practical insights into effective model design for ENT applications. This work represents a systematic evaluation of ENT endoscopic image classification methods and provides a strong baseline and methodological guidance for future research in this domain.

2025 Unveil Inversion and Invariance in Flow Transformer for Versatile Image Editing
abstract
Leveraging the large generative prior of the flow transformer for tuning-free image editing requires authentic inversion to project the image into the model’s domain and a flexible invariance control mechanism to preserve non-target contents. However, the prevailing diffusion inversion performs deficiently in flow-based models, and the invariance control cannot reconcile diverse rigid and non-rigid editing tasks. To address these, we systematically analyze the inversion and invariance control based on the flow transformer. Specifically, we unveil that the Euler inversion shares a similar structure to DDIM yet is more susceptible to the approximation error. Thus, we propose a two-stage inversion to first refine the velocity estimation and then compensate for the leftover error, which pivots closely to the model prior and benefits editing. Meanwhile, we propose the invariance control that manipulates the text features within the adaptive layer normalization, connecting the changes in the text prompt to image semantics. This mechanism can simultaneously preserve the non-target contents while allowing rigid and non-rigid manipulation, enabling a wide range of editing types such as visual text, quantity, facial expression, etc. Experiments on versatile scenarios validate that our framework achieves flexible and accurate editing, unlocking the potential of the flow transformer for versatile image editing. 2025 GroundingFace: Fine-grained Face Understanding via Pixel Grounding Multimodal Large Language Model
abstract
Multimodal Language Learning Models (MLLMs) have shown remarkable performance in image understanding, generation, and editing, with recent advancements achieving pixel-level grounding with reasoning. However, these models for common objects struggle with fine-grained face understanding. In this work, we introduce the FacePlayGround-240K dataset, the first pioneering large-scale, pixel-grounded face caption and question-answer (QA) dataset that includes 240K images, 47 mask categories, 5.4M mask annotations, and 7.3M grounded regions, meticulously curated for alignment pretraining and instruction-tuning. We present the GroundingFace framework, specifically designed to enhance fine-grained face understanding. This framework significantly augments the capabilities of existing grounding models in face part segmentation, face attribute comprehension, while preserving general scene understanding. Comprehensive experiments validate that our approach surpasses current state-of-the-art models in pixel-grounded face captioning/QA and various downstream tasks, including face captioning, referring segmentation, and zero-shot face attribute recognition.

2025 MobileMamba: Lightweight Multi-Receptive Visual Mamba Network
abstract
Previous research on lightweight models has primarily focused on CNNs and Transformer-based designs. CNNs, with their local receptive fields, struggle to capture long-range dependencies, while Transformers, despite their global modeling capabilities, are limited by quadratic computational complexity in high-resolution scenarios. Recently, state-space models have gained popularity in the visual domain due to their linear computational complexity. Despite their low FLOPs, current lightweight Mamba-based models exhibit suboptimal throughput. In this work, we propose the MobileMamba framework, which balances efficiency and performance. We design a three-stage network to enhance inference speed significantly. At a fine-grained level, we introduce the Multi-Receptive Field Feature Interaction (MRFFI) module, comprising the Long-Range Wavelet Transform-Enhanced Mamba (WTE-Mamba), Efficient Multi-Kernel Depthwise Convolution (MK-DeConv), and Eliminate Redundant Identity components. This module integrates multi-receptive field information and enhances high-frequency detail extraction. Additionally, we employ training and testing strategies to further improve performance and efficiency. MobileMamba achieves up to 83.6% on Top-1, surpassing existing state-of-the-art methods which is maximum ×21↑ faster than LocalVim on GPU. Extensive experiments on high-resolution downstream tasks demonstrate that MobileMamba surpasses current efficient models, achieving an optimal balance between speed and accuracy.

2025 Improving Autoregressive Visual Generation with Cluster-Oriented Token Prediction
abstract
Employing LLMs for visual generation has recently become a research focus. However, the existing methods primarily transfer the LLM architecture to visual generation but rarely investigate the fundamental differences between language and vision. This oversight may lead to suboptimal utilization of visual generation capabilities within the LLM framework. In this paper, we explore the characteristics of visual embedding space under the LLM framework and discover that the correlation between visual embeddings can help achieve more stable and robust generation results. We present IAR, an Improved AutoRegressive Visual Generation Method that enhances the training efficiency and generation quality of LLM-based visual generation models. Firstly, we propose a Codebook Rearrangement strategy that uses balanced k-means clustering algorithm to rearrange the visual codebook into clusters, ensuring high similarity among visual features within each cluster. Leveraging the rearranged codebook, we propose a Cluster-oriented Cross-entropy Loss that guides the model to correctly predict the cluster where the target token is located. This approach ensures that even if the model predicts the wrong token index, there is a high probability the predicted token is located in the correct cluster, which significantly enhances the generation quality and robustness. Extensive experiments demonstrate that our IAR consistently enhances the model training efficiency and performance from 100M to 1.4B, reducing the training time by half while achieving the same FID. Additionally, IAR can be applied to various LLM-based visual generation models and adheres to the scaling law, providing a promising direction for future research in LLM-based visual generation. 2025 Sonic: Shifting Focus to Global Audio Perception in Portrait Animation
abstract
The study of talking face generation mainly explores the intricacies of synchronizing facial movements and crafting visually appealing, temporally-coherent animations. However, due to the limited exploration of global audio perception, current approaches predominantly employ auxiliary visual and spatial knowledge to stabilize the movements, which often results in the deterioration of the naturalness and temporal inconsistencies. Considering the essence of audio-driven animation, the audio signal serves as the ideal and unique priors to adjust facial expressions and lip movements, without resorting to interference of any visual signals. Based on this motivation, we propose a novel paradigm, dubbed as Sonic, to shift focus on the exploration of global audio perception. To effectively leverage global audio knowledge, we disentangle it into intra-and inter-clip audio perception and collaborate with both aspects to enhance overall perception. For the intra-clip audio perception, 1). Context-enhanced audio learning, in which long-range intra-clip temporal audio knowledge is extracted to provide facial expression and lip motion priors implicitly expressed as the tone and speed of speech. 2). Motion-decoupled controller, in which the motion of the head and expression movement are disentangled and independently controlled by intra-audio clips. Most importantly, for inter-clip audio perception, as a bridge to connect the intra-clips to achieve the global perception, Time-aware position shift fusion, in which the global inter-clip audio information is considered and fused for long-audio inference via through consecutively time-aware shifted windows. Extensive experiments demonstrate that the novel audio-driven paradigm outperform existing SOTA methodologies in terms of video quality, temporally consistency, lip synchronization precision, and motion diversity.

2025 CustAny: Customizing Anything from A Single Example
abstract
Recent advances in diffusion-based text-to-image models have simplified creating high-fidelity images, but preserving the identity (ID) of specific elements, like a personal dog, is still challenging. Object customization, using reference images and textual descriptions, is key to addressing this issue. Current object customization methods are either object-specific, requiring extensive fine-tuning, or object-agnostic, offering zero-shot customization but limited to specialized domains. The primary issue of promoting zero-shot object customization from specific domains to the general domain is to establish a large-scale general ID dataset for model pre-training, which is time-consuming and labor-intensive. In this paper, we propose a novel pipeline to construct a large dataset of general objects and build the Multi-Category ID-Consistent (MC-IDC) dataset, featuring 315k text-image samples across 10k categories. With the help of MC-IDC, we introduce Customizing Anything (CustAny), a zero-shot framework that maintains ID fidelity and supports flexible text editing for general objects. CustAny features three key components: a general ID extraction module, a dual-level ID injection module, and an ID-aware decoupling module, allowing it to customize any object from a single reference image and text prompt. Experiments demonstrate that CustAny outperforms existing methods in both general object customization and specialized domains like human customization and virtual try-on. Our contributions include a large-scale dataset, the CustAny framework and novel ID processing to advance this field. The official project page is in https://lingjiekong-fdu.github.io.

2025 OSV: One Step is Enough for High-Quality Image to Video Generation
abstract
Video diffusion models have shown great potential in generating high-quality videos, making them an increasingly popular focus. However, their inherent iterative nature leads to substantial computational and time costs. Although techniques such as consistency distillation and adversarial training have been employed to accelerate video diffusion by reducing inference steps, these methods often simply transfer the generation approaches from Image diffusion models to video diffusion models. As a result, these methods frequently fall short in terms of both performance and training stability. In this work, we introduce a two-stage training framework that effectively combines consistency distillation with adversarial training to address these challenges. Additionally, we propose a novel video discriminator design, which eliminates the need for decoding the video latents and improves the final performance. Our model is capable of producing high-quality videos in merely one-step, with the flexibility to perform multi-step refinement for further performance enhancement. Our quantitative evaluation on the OpenVid-1M benchmark shows that our model significantly outperforms existing methods. Notably, our 1-step performance (FVD 171.15) exceeds the 8-step performance of the consistency distillation based method, AnimateLCM (FVD 184.79), and approaches the 25-step performance of advanced Stable Video Diffusion (FVD 156.94).

2025 SVFR: A Unified Framework for Generalized Video Face Restoration
abstract
Face Restoration (FR) is a crucial area within image and video processing, focusing on reconstructing high-quality portraits from degraded inputs. Despite advancements in image FR, video FR remains relatively under-explored, primarily due to challenges related to temporal consistency, motion artifacts, and the limited availability of high-quality video data. Moreover, traditional face restoration typically prioritizes enhancing resolution and may not give as much consideration to related tasks such as facial colorization and inpainting. In this paper, we propose a novel approach for the Generalized Video Face Restoration (GVFR) task, which integrates video blind face restoration (BFR), inpainting, and colorization tasks that we empirically show to benefit each other. We present a unified framework, termed as stable video face restoration (SVFR), which leverages the generative and motion priors of Stable Video Diffusion (SVD) and incorporates task-specific information through a unified face restoration framework. A learnable task embedding is introduced to enhance task identification. Meanwhile, a novel Unified Latent Regularization (ULR) is employed to encourage the shared feature representation learning among different subtasks. To further enhance the restoration quality and temporal stability, we introduce the facial prior learning and the self-referred refinement as auxiliary strategies. The proposed framework effectively combines the complementary strengths of these tasks, enhancing temporal coherence and achieving superior restoration quality. 2025 TIMotion: Temporal and Interactive Framework for Efficient Human-Human Motion Generation
abstract
Human-human motion generation is essential for understanding humans as social beings. Current methods fall into two main categories: single-person-based methods and separate modeling-based methods. To delve into this field, we abstract the overall generation process into a general framework MetaMotion, which consists of two phases: temporal modeling and interaction mixing. For temporal modeling, the single-person-based methods concatenate two people into a single one directly, while the separate modeling-based methods skip the modeling of interaction sequences. The inadequate modeling described above resulted in sub-optimal performance and redundant model parameters. In this paper, we introduce TIMotion (Temporal and Interactive Modeling), an efficient and effective framework for human-human motion generation. Specifically, we first propose Causal Interactive Injection to model two separate sequences as a causal sequence leveraging the temporal and causal properties. Then we present Role-Evolving Scanning to adjust to the change in the active and passive roles throughout the interaction. Finally, to generate smoother and more rational motion, we design Localized Pattern Amplification to capture short-term motion patterns. Extensive experiments on InterHuman and Inter-X demonstrate that our method achieves superior performance.

2025 Real-IAD D3: A Real-World 2D/Pseudo-3D/3D Dataset for Industrial Anomaly Detection
abstract
The increasing complexity of industrial anomaly detection (IAD) has positioned multimodal detection methods as a focal area of machine vision research. However, dedicated multimodal datasets specifically tailored for IAD remain limited. Pioneering datasets like MVTec 3D have laid essential groundwork in multimodal IAD by incorporating RGB+3D data, but still face challenges in bridging the gap with real industrial environments due to limitations in scale and resolution. To address these challenges, we introduce Real-IAD D3, a high-precision multimodal dataset that uniquely incorporates an additional pseudo-3D modality generated through photometric stereo, alongside high-resolution RGB images and micrometer-level 3D point clouds. Real-IAD D3features finer defects, diverse anomalies, and greater scale across 20 categories, providing a challenging benchmark for multimodal IAD Additionally, we introduce an effective approach that integrates RGB, point cloud, and pseudo-3D depth information to leverage the complementary strengths of each modality, enhancing detection performance. Our experiments highlight the importance of these modalities in boosting detection robustness and overall IAD performance. The dataset and code are publicly accessible for research purposes at https://realiad4ad.github.io/Real-IAD_D3.

2025 LLaVA-KD: A Framework of Distilling Multimodal Large Language Models
abstract
The success of Large Language Models (LLMs) has inspired the development of Multimodal Large Language Models (MLLMs) for unified understanding of vision and language. However, the increasing model size and computational complexity of large-scale MLLMs (l-MLLMs) limit their use in resource-constrained scenarios. Although small-scale MLLMs (s-MLLMs) are designed to reduce computational costs, they typically suffer from performance degradation. To mitigate this limitation, we propose a novel LLaVA-KD framework to transfer knowledge from l-MLLMs to s-MLLMs. Specifically, we introduce Multimodal Distillation (MDist) to transfer teacher model's robust representations across both visual and linguistic modalities, and Relation Distillation (RDist) to transfer teacher model's ability to capture visual token relationships. Additionally, we propose a three-stage training scheme to fully exploit the potential of the proposed distillation strategy: 1) Distilled Pre-Training to strengthen the alignment between visual-linguistic representations in s-MLLMs, 2) Supervised Fine-Tuning to equip the s-MLLMs with multimodal understanding capacity, and 3) Distilled Fine-Tuning to refine s-MLLM's knowledge. Our approach significantly improves s-MLLMs performance without altering the model architecture. Extensive experiments and ablation studies validate the effectiveness of each proposed component. Code will be available at https://github.com/Fantasyele/LLaVA-KD.

2025 Are They the Same? Exploring Visual Correspondence Shortcomings of Multimodal LLMs
abstract
Recent advancements in multimodal large language models (MLLM) have shown a strong ability in visual perception, reasoning abilities, and vision-language understanding. However, the visual matching ability of MLLMs is rarely studied, despite finding the visual correspondence of objects is essential in computer vision. Our research reveals that the matching capabilities in recent MLLMs still exhibit systematic shortcomings, even with current strong MLLMs models, GPT-4o. In particular, we construct a Multimodal Visual Matching (MMVM) benchmark to fairly benchmark over 30 different MLLMs. The MMVM benchmark is built from 15 open-source datasets and Internet videos with manual annotation. We categorize the data samples of MMVM benchmark into eight aspects based on the required cues and capabilities to more comprehensively evaluate and analyze current MLLMs. In addition, we have designed an automatic annotation pipeline to generate the MMVM SFT dataset, including 220K visual matching data with reasoning annotation. To our knowledge, this is the first visual corresponding dataset and benchmark for the MLLM community. Finally, we present CoLVA, a novel contrastive MLLM with two novel technical designs: fine-grained vision expert with object-level contrastive learning and instruction augmentation strategy. The former learns instance discriminative tokens, while the latter further improves instruction following ability. CoLVA-InternVL2-4B achieves an overall accuracy (OA) of 49.80\% on the MMVM benchmark, surpassing GPT-4o and the best open-source MLLM, Qwen2VL-72B, by 7.15\% and 11.72\% OA, respectively. These results demonstrate the effectiveness of our MMVM SFT dataset and our novel technical designs. Code, benchmark, dataset, and models will be released.

2025 SaRA: High-Efficient Diffusion Model Fine-tuning with Progressive Sparse Low-Rank Adaptation
abstract
The development of diffusion models has led to significant progress in image and video generation tasks, with pre-trained models like the Stable Diffusion series playing a crucial role. However, a key challenge remains in downstream task applications: how to effectively and efficiently adapt pre-trained diffusion models to new tasks. Inspired by model pruning which lightens large pre-trained models by removing unimportant parameters, we propose a novel model fine-tuning method to make full use of these ineffective parameters and enable the pre-trained model with new task-specified capabilities. In this work, we first investigate the importance of parameters in pre-trained diffusion models and discover that parameters with the smallest absolute values do not contribute to the generation process due to training instabilities. Based on this observation, we propose a fine-tuning method termed SaRA that re-utilizes these temporarily ineffective parameters, equating to optimizing a sparse weight matrix to learn the task-specific knowledge. To mitigate potential overfitting, we propose a nuclear-norm-based low-rank sparse training scheme for efficient fine-tuning. Furthermore, we design a new progressive parameter adjustment strategy to make full use of the finetuned parameters. Finally, we propose a novel unstructural backpropagation strategy, which significantly reduces memory costs during fine-tuning. Our method enhances the generative capabilities of pre-trained models in downstream applications and outperforms existing fine-tuning methods in maintaining model's generalization ability. 2025 VividPose: Vividly 3D-driven Stable Pose Diffusion of High Facial Fidelity
abstract
Human image animation aims to generate a video from a static image by following a specified pose sequence. Existing methods typically adopt a multi-stage pipeline that separately learns appearance and motion, leading to appearance degradation and temporal inconsistencies. To address these issues, we propose VividPose, an innovative end-to-end pipeline based on Stable Video Diffusion (SVD) that ensures superior temporal stability. To enhance the retention of human identity, we propose an identity-aware appearance controller that integrates additional facial information without compromising other appearance details such as clothing texture and background. To accommodate diverse human body shapes and hand movements, we introduce a geometry-aware pose controller that utilizes both rendering maps and skeleton maps. Extensive qualitative and quantitative experiments on the UBCFashion and TikTok benchmarks demonstrate that our method achieves state-of-the-art performance. Furthermore, VividPose exhibits superior generalization capabilities on our proposed in-the-wild dataset. Our project page is available at https://kelu007.github.io/vivid-pose.

2025 Identity-Preserving Text-to-Video Generation Guided by Simple yet Effective Spatial-Temporal Decoupled Representations
abstract
Identity-preserving text-to-video (IPT2V) generation, which aims to create high-fidelity videos with consistent human identity, has become crucial for downstream applications. However, current end-to-end frameworks suffer a critical spatial-temporal trade-off: optimizing for spatially coherent layouts of key elements ( e.g., character identity preservation) often compromises instruction-compliant temporal smoothness, while prioritizing dynamic realism risks disrupting the spatial coherence of visual structures. To tackle this issue, we propose a simple yet effective spatial-temporal decoupled framework that decomposes representations into spatial features for layouts and temporal features for motion dynamics. Specifically, our paper proposes a semantic prompt optimization mechanism and stage-wise decoupled generation paradigm. The former module decouples the prompt into spatial and temporal components. Aligned with the subsequent stage-wise decoupled approach, the spatial prompts guide the text-to-image (T2I) stage to generate coherent spatial features, while the temporal prompts direct the sequential image-to-video (I2V) stage to ensure motion consistency. Experimental results validate that our approach achieves excellent spatiotemporal consistency, demonstrating outstanding performance in identity preservation, text relevance, and video quality. By leveraging this simple yet robust mechanism, our algorithm secures the runner-up position in 2025 ACM Multimedia Challenge. Our code is available at https://github.com/rain152/IPVG.

2025 PolyVivid: Vivid Multi-Subject Video Generation with Cross-Modal Interaction and Enhancement
abstract
Despite recent advances in video generation, existing models still lack fine-grained controllability, especially for multi-subject customization with consistent identity and interaction. In this paper, we propose PolyVivid, a multi-subject video customization framework that enables flexible and identity-consistent generation. To establish accurate correspondences between subject images and textual entities, we design a VLLM-based text-image fusion module that embeds visual identities into the textual space for precise grounding. To further enhance identity preservation and subject interaction, we propose a 3D-RoPE-based enhancement module that enables structured bidirectional fusion between text and image embeddings. Moreover, we develop an attention-inherited identity injection module to effectively inject fused identity features into the video generation process, mitigating identity drift. Finally, we construct an MLLM-based data pipeline that combines MLLM-based grounding, segmentation, and a clique-based subject consolidation strategy to produce high-quality multi-subject data, effectively enhancing subject distinction and reducing ambiguity in downstream video generation. Extensive experiments demonstrate that PolyVivid achieves superior performance in identity fidelity, video realism, and subject alignment, outperforming existing open-source and commercial baselines. More comprehensive video results and comparisons are shown on the project page in the supplementary material.

2025 UltraVideo: High-Quality UHD Video Dataset with Comprehensive Captions
abstract
The quality of the video dataset (image quality, resolution, and fine-grained caption) greatly influences the performance of the video generation model. %The growing demand for video applications sets higher requirements for high-quality video generation models. %For example, the generation of movie-level Ultra-High Definition (UHD) videos and the creation of 4K short video content. %However, the existing public datasets cannot support related research and applications. %In this paper, we first propose a high-quality open-sourced UHD-4K (22.4\% of which are 8K) text-to-video dataset named UltraVideo, which contains a wide range of topics (more than 100 kinds), and each video has 9 structured captions with one summarized caption (average of 824 words). %Specifically, we carefully design a highly automated curation process with four stages to obtain the final high-quality dataset: i) collection of diverse and high-quality video clips. ii statistical data filtering. iii) model-based data purification. iv) generation of comprehensive, structured captions. %In addition, we expand Wan to UltraWan-1K/-4K, which can natively generate high-quality 1K/4K videos with more consistent text controllability, demonstrating the effectiveness of our data curation.%We believe that this work can make a significant contribution to future research on UHD video generation. 2025 AdaVideoRAG: Omni-Contextual Adaptive Retrieval-Augmented Efficient Long Video Understanding
abstract
Multimodal Large Language Models (MLLMs) have demonstrated excellent performance in video understanding but suffer from degraded effectiveness when processing long videos due to fixed-length contexts and weaknesses in modeling long-term dependencies. Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) technology can mitigate these limitations through dynamic knowledge expansion, but existing RAG schemes for video understanding employ fixed retrieval paradigms that use uniform structures regardless of input query difficulty. This introduces redundant computational overhead and latency (*e.g.*, complex graph traversal operations) for simple queries (*e.g.*, frame-level object recognition) while potentially causing critical information loss due to insufficient retrieval granularity for multi-hop reasoning. Such single-step retrieval mechanisms severely constrain the model's balance between resource efficiency and cognitive depth. To address this, we first propose a novel AdaVideoRAG framework for long-video understanding, which uses a lightweight intent classifier to dynamically and adaptively allocate appropriate retrieval schemes, ranging from the simplest to the most sophisticated, for different video understanding tasks based on query complexity. We introduce an Omni-Knowledge Indexing module to extract valuable information from multi-modal signals for context modeling and build corresponding databases, *i.e.*, a text base from clip captions, ASR, and OCR; a visual base; and a graph for deep semantic understanding. This enables hierarchical knowledge access, integration, and generation from naive retrieval to graph retrieval, achieving an optimal balance between resource consumption and video understanding capabilities. Finally, we construct the HiVU benchmark for deep understanding evaluation. Extensive experiments show that our framework enhances the overall efficiency and accuracy of Video-QA for long videos and can be seamlessly integrated with existing MLLMs via lightweight API calls, establishing a new paradigm for adaptive retrieval augmentation in video analysis.

2025 M3DM-NR: RGB-3D Noisy-Resistant Industrial Anomaly Detection via Multimodal Denoising
abstract
Existing industrial anomaly detection methods primarily concentrate on unsupervised learning with pristine RGB images. Yet, both RGB and 3D data are crucial for anomaly detection, and the datasets are seldom completely clean in practical scenarios. To address above challenges, this paper initially delves into the RGB-3D multi-modal noisy anomaly detection, proposing a novel noise-resistant M3DM-NR framework to leveraging strong multi-modal discriminative capabilities of CLIP. M3DM-NR consists of three stages: Stage-I introduces the Suspected References Selection module to filter a few normal samples from the training dataset, using the multimodal features extracted by the Initial Feature Extraction, and a Suspected Anomaly Map Computation module to generate a suspected anomaly map to focus on abnormal regions as reference. Stage-II uses the suspected anomaly maps of the reference samples as reference, and inputs image, point cloud, and text information to achieve denoising of the training samples through intra-modal comparison and multi-scale aggregation operations. Finally, Stage-III proposes the Point Feature Alignment, Unsupervised Feature Fusion, Noise Discriminative Coreset Selection, and Decision Layer Fusion modules to learn the pattern of the training dataset, enabling anomaly detection and segmentation while filtering out noise. Extensive experiments show that M3DM-NR outperforms state-of-the-art methods in 3D-RGB multi-modal noisy anomaly detection.

2025 EMOv2: Pushing 5M Vision Model Frontier
abstract
This work focuses on developing parameter-efficient and lightweight models for dense predictions while trading off parameters, FLOPs, and performance. Our goal is to set up the new frontier of the 5 M magnitude lightweight model on various downstream tasks. Inverted Residual Block (IRB) serves as the infrastructure for lightweight CNNs, but no counterparts have been recognized by attention-based design. Our work rethinks the lightweight infrastructure of efficient IRB and practical components in Transformer from a unified perspective, extending CNN-based IRB to attention-based models and abstracting a one-residual Meta Mobile Block (MMBlock) for lightweight model design. Following neat but effective design criterion, we deduce a modern Improved Inverted Residual Mobile Block (i$^{2}$2RMB) and improve a hierarchical Efficient MOdel (EMOv2) with no elaborate complex structures. Considering the imperceptible latency for mobile users when downloading models under 4 G/5 G bandwidth and ensuring model performance, we investigate the performance upper limit of lightweight models with a magnitude of 5 M. Extensive experiments on various vision recognition, dense prediction, and image generation tasks demonstrate the superiority of our EMOv2 over state-of-the-art methods, e.g., EMOv2-1 M/2M/5 M achieve 72.3, 75.8, and 79.4 Top-1 that surpass equal-order CNN-/Attention-based models significantly. At the same time, EMOv2-5 M equipped RetinaNet achieves 41.5 mAP for object detection tasks that surpasses the previous EMO-5 M by +2.6$\uparrow$↑ . When employing the more robust training recipe, our EMOv2-5M eventually achieves 82.9 Top-1 accuracy, which elevates the performance of 5M magnitude models to a new level.

2025 MagicFace: Slot-Driven High-Fidelity One-Shot Facial Appearance Editing
abstract
Facial Appearance Editing (FAE) focuses on modifying physical attributes like pose, expression, and lighting in facial images while preserving identity and background, which is crucial in photography. Despite significant progress, current research faces three main challenges: low generation fidelity, poor attribute preservation, and inefficient inference. To address these issues, this paper introduces MagicFace, a slot-driven, high-fidelity, one-shot FAE framework. Particularly, MagicFace employs Space-sensitive Physical Customization (SPC) for accurate query attribute transfer, utilizing rendering textures from the 3D Morphable Model (3DMM) to ensure fidelity and generalization. To preserve source attributes, we propose the Region-responsive Semantic Composition (RSC) module, guided by slot attention to learn and preserve decoupled source features. This approach can successfully maintain identity and reduces artifacts related to non-facial attributes such as hair, clothes, and background. Additionally, we introduce a consistency regularization technique to enhance editing controllability by leveraging prior knowledge from attention matrices in the diffusion model. Extensive experiments demonstrate that MagicFace achieves state-of-the-art performance in FAE task, outperforming existing methods.

2025 Adding Before Pruning: Sparse Filter Fusion for Deep Convolutional Neural Networks via Auxiliary Attention
abstract
Filter pruning is a significant feature selection technique to shrink the existing feature fusion schemes (especially on convolution calculation and model size), which helps to develop more efficient feature fusion models while maintaining state-of-the-art performance. In addition, it reduces the storage and computation requirements of deep neural networks (DNNs) and accelerates the inference process dramatically. Existing methods mainly rely on manual constraints such as normalization to select the filters. A typical pipeline comprises two stages: first pruning the original neural network and then fine-tuning the pruned model. However, choosing a manual criterion can be somehow tricky and stochastic. Moreover, directly regularizing and modifying filters in the pipeline suffer from being sensitive to the choice of hyperparameters, thus making the pruning procedure less robust. To address these challenges, we propose to handle the filter pruning issue through one stage: using an attention-based architecture that adaptively fuses the filter selection with filter learning in a unified network. Specifically, we present a pruning method named adding before pruning (ABP) to make the model focus on the filters of higher significance by training instead of man-made criteria such as norm, rank, etc. First, we add an auxiliary attention layer into the original model and set the significance scores in this layer to be binary. Furthermore, to propagate the gradients in the auxiliary attention layer, we design a specific gradient estimator and prove its effectiveness for convergence in the graph flow through mathematical derivation. In the end, to relieve the dependence on the complicated prior knowledge for designing the thresholding criterion, we simultaneously prune and train the filters to automatically eliminate network redundancy with recoverability. Extensive experimental results on the two typical image classification benchmarks, CIFAR-10 and ILSVRC-2012, illustrate that the proposed approach performs favorably against previous state-of-the-art filter pruning algorithms.

2024 Rethinking Reverse Distillation for Multi-Modal Anomaly Detection
abstract
In recent years, there has been significant progress in employing color images for anomaly detection in industrial scenarios, but it is insufficient for identifying anomalies that are invisible in RGB images alone. As a supplement, introducing extra modalities such as depth and surface normal maps can be helpful to detect these anomalies. To this end, we present a novel Multi-Modal Reverse Distillation (MMRD) paradigm that consists of a frozen multi-modal teacher encoder to generate distillation targets and a learnable student decoder targeting to restore multi-modal representations from the teacher. Specifically, the teacher extracts complementary visual features from different modalities via a siamese architecture and then parameter-freely fuses these information from multiple levels as the targets of distillation. For the student, it learns modality-related priors from the teacher representations of normal training data and performs interaction between them to form multi-modal representations for target reconstruction. Extensive experiments show that our MMRD outperforms recent state-of-the-art methods on both anomaly detection and localization on MVTec-3D AD and Eyecandies benchmarks. Codes will be available upon acceptance.

2024 A Diffusion-Based Framework for Multi-Class Anomaly Detection
abstract
Reconstruction-based approaches have achieved remarkable outcomes in anomaly detection. The exceptional image reconstruction capabilities of recently popular diffusion models have sparked research efforts to utilize them for enhanced reconstruction of anomalous images. Nonetheless, these methods might face challenges related to the preservation of image categories and pixel-wise structural integrity in the more practical multi-class setting. To solve the above problems, we propose a Difusion-based Anomaly Detection (DiAD) framework for multi-class anomaly detection, which consists of a pixel-space autoencoder, a latent-space Semantic-Guided (SG) network with a connection to the stable diffusion’s denoising network, and a feature-space pre-trained feature extractor. Firstly, The SG network is proposed for reconstructing anomalous regions while preserving the original image’s semantic information. Secondly, we introduce Spatial-aware Feature Fusion (SFF) block to maximize reconstruction accuracy when dealing with extensively reconstructed areas. Thirdly, the input and reconstructed images are processed by a pre-trained feature extractor to generate anomaly maps based on features extracted at different scales. Experiments on MVTec-AD and VisA datasets demonstrate the effectiveness of our approach which surpasses the state-of-the-art methods, e.g., achieving 96.8/52.6 and 97.2/99.0 (AUROC/AP) for localization and detection respectively on multi-class MVTec-AD dataset. 2024 AnomalyDiffusion: Few-Shot Anomaly Image Generation with Diffusion Model
abstract
Anomaly inspection plays an important role in industrial manufacture. Existing anomaly inspection methods are limited in their performance due to insufficient anomaly data. Although anomaly generation methods have been proposed to augment the anomaly data, they either suffer from poor generation authenticity or inaccurate alignment between the generated anomalies and masks. To address the above problems, we propose AnomalyDiffusion, a novel diffusion-based few-shot anomaly generation model, which utilizes the strong prior information of latent diffusion model learned from large-scale dataset to enhance the generation authenticity under few-shot training data. Firstly, we propose Spatial Anomaly Embedding, which consists of a learnable anomaly embedding and a spatial embedding encoded from an anomaly mask, disentangling the anomaly information into anomaly appearance and location information. Moreover, to improve the alignment between the generated anomalies and the anomaly masks, we introduce a novel Adaptive Attention Re-weighting Mechanism. Based on the disparities between the generated anomaly image and normal sample, it dynamically guides the model to focus more on the areas with less noticeable generated anomalies, enabling generation of accurately-matched anomalous image-mask pairs. Extensive experiments demonstrate that our model significantly outperforms the state-of-the-art methods in generation authenticity and diversity, and effectively improves the performance of downstream anomaly inspection tasks. 2024 Self-Supervised Likelihood Estimation with Energy Guidance for Anomaly Segmentation in Urban Scenes
abstract
Robust autonomous driving requires agents to accurately identify unexpected areas (anomalies) in urban scenes. To this end, some critical issues remain open: how to design advisable metric to measure anomalies, and how to properly generate training samples of anomaly data? Classical effort in anomaly detection usually resorts to pixel-wise uncertainty or sample synthesis, which ignores the contextual information and sometimes requires auxiliary data with fine-grained annotations. On the contrary, in this paper, we exploit the strong context-dependent nature of segmentation task and design an energy-guided self-supervised frameworks for anomaly segmentation, which optimizes an anomaly head by maximizing likelihood of self-generated anomaly pixels. For this purpose, we design two estimators to model anomaly likelihood, one is a task-agnostic binary estimator and the other depicts the likelihood as residual of task-oriented joint energy. Based on proposed estimators, we devise an adaptive self-supervised training framework, which exploits the contextual reliance and estimated likelihood to refine mask annotations in anomaly areas. We conduct extensive experiments on challenging Fishyscapes and Road Anomaly benchmarks, demonstrating that without any auxiliary data or synthetic models, our method can still achieves comparable performance to supervised competitors. 2024 SuperSVG: Superpixel-Based Scalable Vector Graphics Synthesis
abstract
SVG (Scalable Vector Graphics) is a widely used graphics format that possesses excellent scalability and editability. Image vectorization, which aims to convert raster images to SVGs, is an important yet challenging problem in computer vision and graphics. Existing image vectorization methods either suffer from low reconstruction accuracy for complex images or require long computation time. To address this issue, we propose SuperSVG, a superpixel-based vectorization model that achieves fast and high-precision image vectorization. Specifically, we decompose the input image into superpixels to help the model focus on areas with similar colors and textures. Then, we propose a two-stage self-training framework, where a coarse-stage model is employed to reconstruct the main structure and a refinement-stage model is used for enriching the details. Moreover, we propose a novel dynamic path warping loss to help the refinement-stage model to inherit knowledge from the coarse-stage model. 2024 PortraitBooth: A Versatile Portrait Model for Fast Identity-Preserved Personalization
abstract
Recent advancements in personalized image generation using diffusion models have been noteworthy. However, existing methods suffer from inefficiencies due to the requirement for subject-specific fine-tuning. This computationally intensive process hinders efficient deployment, limiting practical usability. Moreover, these methods often grapple with identity distortion and limited expression diversity. In light of these challenges, we propose Portrait-Booth, an innovative approach designed for high efficiency, robust identity preservation, and expression-editable text-to-image generation, without the need for fine-tuning. Por-traitBooth leverages subject embeddingsfrom aface recognition model for personalized image generation without fine-tuning. It eliminates computational overhead and mitigates identity distortion. The introduced dynamic identity preservation strategy further ensures close resemblance to the original image identity. Moreover, PortraitBooth incorporates emotion-aware cross-attention control for diverse facial expressions in generated images, supporting text-driven expression editing. Its scalability enables efficient and high-quality image creation, including multi-subject generation. Extensive results demonstrate superior performance over other state-of-the-art methods in both single and multiple image generation scenarios. Our project page is at https://portraitbooth.github.io.

2024 Real-IAD: A Real-World Multi-View Dataset for Benchmarking Versatile Industrial Anomaly Detection
abstract
Industrial anomaly detection (I AD) has garnered signif-icant attention and experienced rapid development. However, the recent development of I AD approach has encountered certain difficulties due to dataset limitations. On the one hand, most of the state-of-the-art methods have achieved saturation (over 99% in AUROC) on mainstream datasets such as MVTec, and the differences of methods cannot be well distinguished, leading to a significant gap between public datasets and actual application scenarios. On the other hand, the research on various new practical anomaly detection settings is limited by the scale of the dataset, posing a risk of overfitting in evaluation results. Therefore, we propose a large-scale, Real-world, and multi-view Industrial Anomaly Detection dataset, named Real- I AD, which contains 150K high-resolution images of 30 different objects, an order of magnitude larger than existing datasets. It has a larger range of defect area and ratio proportions, making it more challenging than previous datasets. To make the dataset closer to real application scenarios, we adopted a multi-view shooting method and proposed sample-level evaluation metrics. In addition, beyond the general unsupervised anomaly detection setting, we propose a new setting for Fully Unsupervised Indus-trial Anomaly Detection (FUIAD) based on the observation that the yield rate in industrial production is usually greater than 60%, which has more practical application value. Finally, we report the results of popular I AD methods on the Real- I AD dataset, providing a highly challenging benchmark to promote the development of the I AD field.

2024 Towards Language-Driven Video Inpainting via Multimodal Large Language Models
abstract
We introduce a new task - language-driven video inpainting, which uses natural language instructions to guide the inpainting process. This approach overcomes the limitations of traditional video inpainting methods that depend on manually labeled binary masks, a process often tedious and labor-intensive. We present the Remove Objects from Videos by Instructions (ROVI) dataset, containing 5,650 videos and 9,091 inpainting results, to support training and evaluation for this task. We also propose a novel diffusion-based language-driven video inpainting framework, the first end-to-end baseline for this task, integrating Multimodal Large Language Models to understand and execute complex language-based inpaintingrequests effectively. Our comprehensive results showcase the dataset's versatility and the model's effectiveness in various language-instructed inpainting scenarios. We have made datasets, code, and models publicly available at https://github.com/jianzongwu/Language-Driven-Video-Inpainting.

2024 TransAVS: End-to-End Audio-Visual Segmentation with Transformer
abstract
Audio-Visual Segmentation (AVS) is a challenging task, which aims to segment sounding objects in video frames by exploring audio signals. Generally AVS faces two key challenges: (1) Audio signals inherently exhibit a high degree of information density, as sounds produced by multiple objects are entangled within the same audio stream; (2) Objects of the same category tend to produce similar audio signals, making it difficult to distinguish between them and thus leading to unclear segmentation results. Toward this end, we propose TransAVS, the first Transformer-based end-to-end framework for AVS task. Specifically, TransAVS disentangles the audio stream as audio queries, which will interact with images and decode into segmentation masks with full transformer architectures. This scheme not only promotes comprehensive audio-image communication but also explicitly excavates instance cues encapsulated in the scene. Meanwhile, to encourage these audio queries to capture distinctive sounding objects instead of degrading to be homogeneous, we devise two self-supervised loss functions at both query and mask levels, allowing the model to capture distinctive features within similar audio data and achieve more precise segmentation. Our experiments demonstrate that TransAVS achieves state-of-the-art results on the AVSBench dataset, highlighting its effectiveness in bridging the gap between audio and visual modalities.

2024 MambaGesture: Enhancing Co-Speech Gesture Generation with Mamba and Disentangled Multi-Modality Fusion
abstract
Co-speech gesture generation is crucial for producing synchronized and realistic human gestures that accompany speech, enhancing the animation of lifelike avatars in virtual environments. While diffusion models have shown impressive capabilities, current approaches often overlook a wide range of modalities and their interactions, resulting in less dynamic and contextually varied gestures. To address these challenges, we present MambaGesture, a novel framework integrating a Mamba-based attention block, MambaAttn, with a multi-modality feature fusion module, SEAD. The MambaAttn block combines the sequential data processing strengths of the Mamba model with the contextual richness of attention mechanisms, enhancing the temporal coherence of generated gestures. SEAD adeptly fuses audio, text, style, and emotion modalities, employing disentanglement to deepen the fusion process and yield gestures with greater realism and diversity. Our approach, rigorously evaluated on the multi-modal BEAT dataset, demonstrates significant improvements in Fréchet Gesture Distance (FGD), diversity scores, and beat alignment, achieving state-of-the-art performance in co-speech gesture generation.

2024 COMD: Training-free Video Motion Transfer With Camera-Object Motion Disentanglement
abstract
The emergence of diffusion models has greatly propelled the progress in image and video generation. Recently, some efforts have been made in controllable video generation, including text-to-video, image-to-video generation, video editing, and video motion control, among which camera motion control is an important topic. However, existing camera motion control methods rely on training a temporal camera module, and necessitate substantial computation resources due to the large amount of parameters in video generation models. Moreover, existing methods pre-define camera motion types during training, which limits their flexibility in camera control, preventing the realization of some specific camera controls, such as various camera movements in films. Therefore, to reduce training costs and achieve flexible camera control, we propose COMD, a novel training-free video motion transfer model, which disentangles camera motions and object motions in source videos and transfers the extracted camera motions to new videos. We first propose a one-shot camera motion disentanglement method to extract camera motion from a single source video, which separates the moving objects from the background and estimates the camera motion in the moving objects region based on the motion in the background by solving a Poisson equation. Furthermore, we propose a few-shot camera motion disentanglement method to extract the common camera motion from multiple videos with similar camera motions, which employs a window-based clustering technique to extract the common features in temporal attention maps of multiple videos. Finally, we propose a motion combination method to combine different types of camera motions together, enabling our model a more controllable and flexible camera control. Extensive experiments demonstrate that our training-free approach can effectively decouple camera-object motion and apply the decoupled camera motion to a wide range of controllable video generation tasks, achieving flexible and diverse camera motion control. 2024 LLaVA-VSD: Large Language-and-Vision Assistant for Visual Spatial Description
abstract
Visual Spatial Description (VSD) aims to generate texts that describe the spatial relationships between objects within images. Traditional visual spatial relationship classification (VSRC) methods typically output the spatial relationship between two objects in an image, often neglecting world knowledge and lacking general language capabilities. In this paper, we propose a Large Language-and-Vision Assistant for Visual Spatial Description, named LLaVA-VSD, which is designed for the classification, description, and open-ended description of visual spatial relationships. Specifically, the model first constructs a visual spatial instruction-following dataset using given figure-caption pairs for the three tasks. It then employs LoRA to fine-tune a Large Language and Vision Assistant for VSD, which has 13 billion parameters and supports high-resolution images. Finally, a large language model is used to refine the generated sentences, enhancing their diversity and accuracy. LLaVA-VSD demonstrates excellent multimodal conversational capabilities and can follow open-ended instructions to assist with inquiries about object relationships in images.

2024 MDT-A2G: Exploring Masked Diffusion Transformers for Co-Speech Gesture Generation
abstract
Recent advancements in the field of Diffusion Transformers have substantially improved the generation of high-quality 2D images, 3D videos, and 3D shapes. However, the effectiveness of the Transformer architecture in the domain of co-speech gesture generation remains relatively unexplored, as prior methodologies have predominantly employed the Convolutional Neural Network (CNNs) or simple a few transformer layers. In an attempt to bridge this research gap, we introduce a novel Masked Diffusion Transformer for co-speech gesture generation, referred to as MDT-A2G, which directly implements the denoising process on gesture sequences. To enhance the contextual reasoning capability of temporally aligned speech-driven gestures, we incorporate a novel Masked Diffusion Transformer. This model employs a mask modeling scheme specifically designed to strengthen temporal relation learning among sequence gestures, thereby expediting the learning process and leading to coherent and realistic motions. Apart from audio, Our MDT-A2G model also integrates multi-modal information, encompassing text, emotion, and identity. Furthermore, we propose an efficient inference strategy that diminishes the denoising computation by leveraging previously calculated results, thereby achieving a speedup with negligible performance degradation. Experimental results demonstrate that MDT-A2G excels in gesture generation, boasting a learning speed that is over 6× faster than traditional diffusion transformers and an inference speed that is 5.7× than the standard diffusion model. 2024 MambaAD: Exploring State Space Models for Multi-class Unsupervised Anomaly Detection
abstract
Recent advancements in anomaly detection have seen the efficacy of CNN- and transformer-based approaches. However, CNNs struggle with long-range dependencies, while transformers are burdened by quadratic computational complexity. Mamba-based models, with their superior long-range modeling and linear efficiency, have garnered substantial attention. This study pioneers the application of Mamba to multi-class unsupervised anomaly detection, presenting MambaAD, which consists of a pre-trained encoder and a Mamba decoder featuring (Locality-Enhanced State Space) LSS modules at multi-scales. The proposed LSS module, integrating parallel cascaded (Hybrid State Space) HSS blocks and multi-kernel convolutions operations, effectively captures both long-range and local information. The HSS block, utilizing (Hybrid Scanning) HS encoders, encodes feature maps into five scanning methods and eight directions, thereby strengthening global connections through the (State Space Model) SSM. The use of Hilbert scanning and eight directions significantly improves feature sequence modeling. Comprehensive experiments on six diverse anomaly detection datasets and seven metrics demonstrate state-of-the-art performance, substantiating the method's effectiveness. 2024 Fetch and Forge: Efficient Dataset Condensation for Object Detection
abstract
Dataset condensation (DC) is an emerging technique capable of creating compact synthetic datasets from large originals while maintaining considerable performance. It is crucial for accelerating network training and reducing data storage requirements. However, current research on DC mainly focuses on image classification, with less exploration of object detection. This is primarily due to two challenges: (i) the multitasking nature of object detection complicates the condensation process, and (ii) Object detection datasets are characterized by large-scale and high-resolution data, which are difficult for existing DC methods to handle. As a remedy, we propose DCOD, the first dataset condensation framework for object detection. It operates in two stages: Fetch and Forge, initially storing key localization and classification information into model parameters, and then reconstructing synthetic images via model inversion. For the complex of multiple objects in an image, we propose Foreground Background Decoupling to centrally update the foreground of multiple instances and Incremental PatchExpand to further enhance the diversity of foregrounds. Extensive experiments on various detection datasets demonstrate the superiority of DCOD. Even at an extremely low compression rate of 1\%, we achieve 46.4\% and 24.7\% $\text{AP}_{50}$ on the VOC and COCO, respectively, significantly reducing detector training duration.

By leveraging a few images of a specific object, we efficiently fine-tune a text-to-video model to capture the object's shape and attributes accurately. Our approach presents subject region loss and video preservation loss to enhance the subject's learning performance, along with a subject token cross-attention loss to integrate the customized subject with motion control signals. Additionally, we propose training-free techniques for managing subject and camera motions during inference. In particular, we utilize cross-attention map manipulation to govern subject motion and introduce a novel latent shift module for camera movement control as well. MotionBooth excels in preserving the appearance of subjects while simultaneously controlling the motions in generated videos. 2024 Sfnet: Faster and Accurate Semantic Segmentation Via Semantic Flow
abstract
Abstract In this paper, we focus on exploring effective methods for faster and accurate semantic segmentation. A common practice to improve the performance is to attain high-resolution feature maps with strong semantic representation. Two strategies are widely used: atrous convolutions and feature pyramid fusion, while both are either computationally intensive or ineffective. Inspired by the Optical Flow for motion alignment between adjacent video frames, we propose a Flow Alignment Module (FAM) to learn Semantic Flow between feature maps of adjacent levels and broadcast high-level features to high-resolution features effectively and efficiently. Furthermore, integrating our FAM to a standard feature pyramid structure exhibits superior performance over other real-time methods, even on lightweight backbone networks, such as ResNet-18 and DFNet. Then to further speed up the inference procedure, we also present a novel Gated Dual Flow Alignment Module to directly align high-resolution feature maps and low-resolution feature maps where we term the improved version network as SFNet-Lite. Extensive experiments are conducted on several challenging datasets, where results show the effectiveness of both SFNet and SFNet-Lite. In particular, when using Cityscapes test set, the SFNet-Lite series achieve 80.1 mIoU while running at 60 FPS using ResNet-18 backbone and 78.8 mIoU while running at 120 FPS using STDC backbone on RTX-3090. Moreover, we unify four challenging driving datasets (i.e., Cityscapes, Mapillary, IDD, and BDD) into one large dataset, which we named Unified Driving Segmentation (UDS) dataset. It contains diverse domain and style information. We benchmark several representative works on UDS. Both SFNet and SFNet-Lite still achieve the best speed and accuracy trade-off on UDS, which serves as a strong baseline in such a challenging setting. 2024 Reference Twice: A Simple and Unified Baseline for Few-Shot Instance Segmentation
abstract
Few-Shot Instance Segmentation (FSIS) requires detecting and segmenting novel classes with limited support examples. Existing methods based on Region Proposal Networks (RPNs) face two issues: 1) overfitting suppresses novel class objects and 2) dual-branch models require complex spatial correlation strategies to prevent spatial information loss when generating class prototypes. We introduce a unified framework, Reference Twice (RefT), to exploit the relationship between support and query features for FSIS and related tasks. Our three main contributions are: 1) a novel transformer-based baseline that avoids overfitting, offering a new direction for FSIS; 2) demonstrating that support object queries encode key factors after base training, allowing query features to be enhanced twice at both feature and query levels using simple cross-attention, thus avoiding complex spatial correlation interaction; and 3) introducing a class-enhanced base knowledge distillation loss to address the issue of DETR-like models struggling with incremental settings due to the input projection layer, enabling easy extension to incremental FSIS. Extensive experimental evaluations on the COCO dataset under three FSIS settings demonstrate that our method performs favorably against existing approaches across different shots, e.g., +8.2/+9.4 performance gain over state-of-the-art methods with 10/30-shots.

2024 Towards Open Vocabulary Learning: A Survey
abstract
In the field of visual scene understanding, deep neural networks have made impressive advancements in various core tasks like segmentation, tracking, and detection. However, most approaches operate on the close-set assumption, meaning that the model can only identify pre-defined categories that are present in the training set. Recently, open vocabulary settings were proposed due to the rapid progress of vision language pre-training. These new approaches seek to locate and recognize categories beyond the annotated label space. The open vocabulary approach is more general, practical, and effective than weakly supervised and zero-shot settings. This paper thoroughly reviews open vocabulary learning, summarizing and analyzing recent developments in the field. In particular, we begin by juxtaposing open vocabulary learning with analogous concepts such as zero-shot learning, open-set recognition, and out-of-distribution detection. Subsequently, we examine several pertinent tasks within the realms of segmentation and detection, encompassing long-tail problems, few-shot, and zero-shot settings. As a foundation for our method survey, we first elucidate the fundamental principles of detection and segmentation in close-set scenarios. Next, we examine various contexts where open vocabulary learning is employed, pinpointing recurring design elements and central themes. This is followed by a comparative analysis of recent detection and segmentation methodologies in commonly used datasets and benchmarks. Our review culminates with a synthesis of insights, challenges, and discourse on prospective research trajectories. To our knowledge, this constitutes the inaugural exhaustive literature review on open vocabulary learning.

2023 Calibrated Teacher for Sparsely Annotated Object Detection
abstract
Fully supervised object detection requires training images in which all instances are annotated. This is actually impractical due to the high labor and time costs and the unavoidable missing annotations. As a result, the incomplete annotation in each image could provide misleading supervision and harm the training. Recent works on sparsely annotated object detection alleviate this problem by generating pseudo labels for the missing annotations. Such a mechanism is sensitive to the threshold of the pseudo label score. However, the effective threshold is different in different training stages and among different object detectors. Therefore, the current methods with fixed thresholds have sub-optimal performance, and are difficult to be applied to other detectors. In order to resolve this obstacle, we propose a Calibrated Teacher, of which the confidence estimation of the prediction is well calibrated to match its real precision. In this way, different detectors in different training stages would share a similar distribution of the output confidence, so that multiple detectors could share the same fixed threshold and achieve better performance. Furthermore, we present a simple but effective Focal IoU Weight (FIoU) for the classification loss. FIoU aims at reducing the loss weight of false negative samples caused by the missing annotation, and thus works as the complement of the teacher-student paradigm. Extensive experiments show that our methods set new state-of-the-art under all different sparse settings in COCO. Code will be available at https://github.com/Whileherham/CalibratedTeacher.

2023 Multimodal Industrial Anomaly Detection via Hybrid Fusion
abstract
2D-based Industrial Anomaly Detection has been widely discussed, however, multimodal industrial anomaly detection based on 3D point clouds and RGB images still has many untouched fields. Existing multimodal industrial anomaly detection methods directly concatenate the multimodal features, which leads to a strong disturbance between features and harms the detection performance. In this paper, we propose Multi-3D-Memory (M3DM), a novel multimodal anomaly detection method with hybrid fusion scheme: firstly, we design an unsupervised feature fusion with patch-wise contrastive learning to encourage the interaction of different modal features; secondly, we use a decision layer fusion with multiple memory banks to avoid loss of information and additional novelty classifiers to make the final decision. We further propose a point feature alignment operation to better align the point cloud and RGB features. Extensive experiments show that our multi-modal industrial anomaly detection model outperforms the state-of-the-art (SOTA) methods on both detection and segmentation precision on MVTec-3D AD dataset. 2023 Better "CMOS" Produces Clearer Images: Learning Space-Variant Blur Estimation for Blind Image Super-Resolution
abstract
Most of the existing blind image Super-Resolution (SR) methods assume that the blur kernels are space-invariant. However, the blur involved in real applications are usually space-variant due to object motion, out-of-focus, etc., resulting in severe performance drop of the advanced SR methods. To address this problem, we firstly introduce two new datasets with out-of-focus blur, i.e., NYUv2-BSR and Cityscapes-BSR, to support further researches of blind SR with space-variant blur. Based on the datasets, we design a novel Cross-MOdal fuSion network (CMOS) that estimate both blur and semantics simultaneously, which leads to improved SR results. It involves a feature Grouping Interactive Attention (GIA) module to make the two modalities in-teract more effectively and avoid inconsistency. GIA can also be used for the interaction of other features because of the universality of its structure. Qualitative and quantitative experiments compared with state-of-the-art methods on above datasets and real-world images demonstrate the superiority of our method, e.g., obtaining PSNR/SSIM by +1.91↑/+0.0048↑ on NYUv2-BSR than MANet11https://github.com/ByChelsea/CMOS.git.

2023 Learning to Measure the Point Cloud Reconstruction Loss in a Representation Space
abstract
For point cloud reconstruction-related tasks, the reconstruction losses to evaluate the shape differences between reconstructed results and the ground truths are typically used to train the task networks. Most existing works measure the training loss with point-to-point distance, which may introduce extra defects as predefined matching rules may deviate from the real shape differences. Although some learning-based works have been proposed to overcome the weaknesses of manually-defined rules, they still measure the shape differences in 3D Euclidean space, which may limit their ability to capture defects in reconstructed shapes. In this work, we propose a learning-based Contrastive Adver-sarial Loss (CALoss) to measure the point cloud reconstruction loss dynamically in a non-linear representation space by combining the contrastive constraint with the adversarial strategy. Specifically, we use the contrastive constraint to help CALoss learn a representation space with shape similarity, while we introduce the adversarial strategy to help CALoss mine differences between reconstructed results and ground truths. According to experiments on reconstruction-related tasks, CALoss can help task networks improve re-construction performances and learn more representative representations.

2023 MixTeacher: Mining Promising Labels with Mixed Scale Teacher for Semi-Supervised Object Detection
abstract
Scale variation across object instances remains a key challenge in object detection task. Despite the remarkable progress made by modern detection models, this challenge is particularly evident in the semi-supervised case. While existing semi-supervised object detection methods rely on strict conditions to filter high-quality pseudo labels from network predictions, we observe that objects with extreme scale tend to have low confidence, resulting in a lack of positive supervision for these objects. In this paper, we propose a novel framework that addresses the scale variation problem by introducing a mixed scale teacher to improve pseudo label generation and scale-invariant learning. Additionally, we propose mining pseudo labels using score promotion of predictions across scales, which benefits from better predictions from mixed scale features. Our extensive experiments on MS COCO and PASCAL VOC benchmarks under various semi-supervised settings demonstrate that our method achieves new state-of-the-art performance. 2023 Learning with Noisy labels via Self-supervised Adversarial Noisy Masking
abstract
Collecting large-scale datasets is crucial for training deep models, annotating the data, however, inevitably yields noisy labels, which poses challenges to deep learning algorithms. Previous efforts tend to mitigate this problem via identifying and removing noisy samples or correcting their labels according to the statistical properties (e.g., loss values) among training samples. In this paper, we aim to tackle this problem from a new perspective, delving into the deep feature maps, we empirically find that models trained with clean and mislabeled samples manifest distinguishable activation feature distributions. From this observation, a novel robust training approach termed adversarial noisy masking is proposed. The idea is to regularize deep features with a label quality guided masking scheme, which adaptively modulates the input data and label simultaneously, preventing the model to overfit noisy samples. Further, an auxiliary task is designed to reconstruct input data, it naturally provides noise-free self-supervised signals to rein-force the generalization ability of models. The proposed method is simple yet effective, it is tested on synthetic and real-world noisy datasets, where significant improvements are obtained over previous methods. 2023 High-Fidelity Generalized Emotional Talking Face Generation with Multi-Modal Emotion Space Learning
abstract
Recently, emotional talking face generation has received considerable attention. However, existing methods only adopt one-hot coding, image, or audio as emotion conditions, thus lacking flexible control in practical applications and failing to handle unseen emotion styles due to limited semantics. They either ignore the one-shot setting or the quality of generated faces. In this paper, we propose a more flexible and generalized framework. Specifically, we supplement the emotion style in text prompts and use an Aligned Multi-modal Emotion encoder to embed the text, image, and audio emotion modality into a unified space, which inherits rich semantic prior from CLIP. Consequently, effective multi-modal emotion space learning helps our method support arbitrary emotion modality during testing and could generalize to unseen emotion styles. Besides, an Emotion-aware Audio-to-3DMM Convertor is proposed to connect the emotion condition and the audio sequence to structural representation. A followed style-based High-fidelity Emotional Face generator is designed to generate arbitrary high-resolution realistic identities. Our texture generator hierarchically learns flow fields and animated faces in a residual manner. Extensive experiments demonstrate the flexibility and generalization of our method in emotion control and the effectiveness of high-quality face synthesis.

2023 Remembering Normality: Memory-guided Knowledge Distillation for Unsupervised Anomaly Detection
abstract
Knowledge distillation (KD) has been widely explored in unsupervised anomaly detection (AD). The student is assumed to constantly produce representations of typical patterns within trained data, named "normality", and the representation discrepancy between the teacher and student model is identified as anomalies. However, it suffers from the "normality forgetting" issue. Trained on anomaly-free data, the student still well reconstructs anomalous representations for anomalies and is sensitive to fine patterns in normal data, which also appear in training. To mitigate this issue, we introduce a novel Memory-guided Knowledge-Distillation (MemKD) framework that adaptively modulates the normality of student features in detecting anomalies. Specifically, we first propose a normality recall memory (NR Memory) to strengthen the normality of student-generated features by recalling the stored normal information. In this sense, representations will not present anomalies and fine patterns will be well described. Subsequently, we employ a normality embedding learning strategy to promote information learning for the NR Memory. It constructs a normal exemplar set so that the NR Memory can memorize prior knowledge in anomaly-free data and later recall them from the query feature. Consequently, comprehensive experiments demonstrate that the proposed MemKD achieves promising results on five benchmarks.

2023 Phasic Content Fusing Diffusion Model with Directional Distribution Consistency for Few-Shot Model Adaption
abstract
Training a generative model with limited number of samples is a challenging task. Current methods primarily rely on few-shot model adaption to train the network. However, in scenarios where data is extremely limited (less than 10), the generative network tends to overfit and suffers from content degradation. To address these problems, we propose a novel phasic content fusing few-shot diffusion model with directional distribution consistency loss, which targets different learning objectives at distinct training stages of the diffusion model. Specifically, we design a phasic training strategy with phasic content fusion to help our model learn content and style information when t is large, and learn local details of target domain when t is small, leading to an improvement in the capture of content, style and local details. Furthermore, we introduce a novel directional distribution consistency loss that ensures the consistency between the generated and source distributions more efficiently and stably than the prior methods, preventing our model from overfitting. Finally, we propose a cross-domain structure guidance strategy that enhances structure consistency during domain adaptation. Theoretical analysis, qualitative and quantitative experiments demonstrate the superiority of our approach in few-shot generative model adaption tasks compared to state-of-the-art methods. Existing methods employ local color transformation or region matching between foreground and background, which neglects powerful proximity prior and independently distinguishes fore-/back-ground as a whole part for harmonization. As a result, they still show a limited performance across varied foreground objects and scenes. To address this issue, we propose a novel Global-aware Kernel Net-work (GKNet) to harmonize local regions with comprehensive consideration of long-distance background references. Specifically, GKNet includes two parts, i.e., harmony kernel prediction and harmony kernel modulation branches. The former includes a Long-distance Reference Extractor (LRE) to obtain long-distance context and Kernel Prediction Blocks (KPB) to predict multi-level harmony kernels by fusing global information with local features. To achieve this goal, a novel Selective Correlation Fusion (SCF) module is proposed to better select relevant long-distance background references for local harmonization. The latter employs the predicted kernels to harmonize foreground regions with local and global awareness. Abundant experiments demonstrate the superiority of our method for image harmonization over state-of-the-art methods, e.g., achieving 39.53dB PSNR that surpasses the best counterpart by +0.78dB ↑; decreasing fMSE/MSE by 11.5%↓/6.7%↓ compared with the SoTA method. Code will be available at here.

2023 Rethinking Mobile Block for Efficient Attention-based Models
abstract
This paper focuses on developing modern, efficient, lightweight models for dense predictions while trading off parameters, FLOPs, and performance. Inverted Residual Block (IRB) serves as the infrastructure for lightweight CNNs, but no counterpart has been recognized by attention-based studies. This work rethinks lightweight infrastructure from efficient IRB and effective components of Transformer from a unified perspective, extending CNN-based IRB to attention-based models and abstracting a one-residual Meta Mobile Block (MMB) for lightweight model design. Following simple but effective design criterion, we deduce a modern Inverted Residual Mobile Block (iRMB) and build a ResNetlike Efficient MOdel (EMO) with only iRMB for down-stream tasks. Extensive experiments on ImageNet-1K, COCO2017, and ADE20K benchmarks demonstrate the superiority of our EMO over state-of-the-art methods, e.g., EMO-1M/2M/5M achieve 71.5, 75.1, and 78.4 Top-1 that surpass equal-order CNN-/Attention-based models, while trading-off the parameter, efficiency, and accuracy well: running 2.8-4.0× ↑ faster than EdgeNeXt on iPhone14.

2023 Toward High Quality Facial Representation Learning
abstract
Face analysis tasks have a wide range of applications, but the universal facial representation has only been explored in a few works. In this paper, we explore high-performance pre-training methods to boost the face analysis tasks such as face alignment and face parsing. We propose a self-supervised pre-training framework, called Mask Contrastive Face (MCF), with mask image modeling and a contrastive strategy specially adjusted for face domain tasks. To improve the facial representation quality, we use feature map of a pre-trained visual backbone as a supervision item and use a partially pre-trained decoder for mask image modeling. To handle the face identity during the pre-training stage, we further use random masks to build contrastive learning pairs. We conduct the pre-training on the LAION-FACE-cropped dataset, a variants of LAION-FACE 20M, which contains more than 20 million face images from Internet websites. For efficiency pre-training, we explore our framework pre-training performance on a small part of LAION-FACE-cropped and verify the superiority with different pre-training settings. Our model pre-trained with the full pre-training dataset outperforms the state-of-the-art methods on multiple downstream tasks. Our model achieves 0.932 NME_diag for AFLW-19 face alignment and 93.96 F1 score for LaPa face parsing. Code is available at https://github.com/nomewang/MCF.

2023 PVG: Progressive Vision Graph for Vision Recognition
abstract
Convolution-based and Transformer-based vision backbone networks process images into the grid or sequence structures, respectively, which are inflexible for capturing irregular objects. Though Vision GNN (ViG) adopts graph-level features for complex images, it has some issues, such as inaccurate neighbor node selection, expensive node information aggregation calculation, and over-smoothing in the deep layers. To address the above problems, we propose a Progressive Vision Graph (PVG) architecture for vision recognition task. Compared with previous works, PVG contains three main components: 1) Progressively Separated Graph Construction (PSGC) to introduce second-order similarity by gradually increasing the channel of the global graph branch and decreasing the channel of local branch as the layer deepens; 2) Neighbor nodes information aggregation and update module by using Max pooling and mathematical Expectation (MaxE) to aggregate rich neighbor information; 3) Graph error Linear Unit (GraphLU) to enhance low-value information in a relaxed form to reduce the compression of image detail information for alleviating the over-smoothing. Extensive experiments on mainstream benchmarks demonstrate the superiority of PVG over state-of-the-art methods, e.g., our PVG-S obtains 83.0% Top-1 accuracy on ImageNet-1K that surpasses GNN-based ViG-S by +0.9↑ with the parameters reduced by 18.5%, while the largest PVG-B obtains 84.2% that has +0.5↑ improvement than ViG-B. Furthermore, our PVG-S obtains +1.3↑ box AP and +0.4↑ mask AP gains than ViG-S on COCO dataset.

2023 Omni-Frequency Channel-Selection Representations for Unsupervised Anomaly Detection
abstract
Density-based and classification-based methods have ruled unsupervised anomaly detection in recent years, while reconstruction-based methods are rarely mentioned for the poor reconstruction ability and low performance. However, the latter requires no costly extra training samples for the unsupervised training that is more practical, so this paper focuses on improving reconstruction-based method and proposes a novel O mni-frequency C hannel-selection R econstruction (OCR-GAN) network to handle sensory anomaly detection task in a perspective of frequency. Concretely, we propose a Frequency Decoupling (FD) module to decouple the input image into different frequency components and model the reconstruction process as a combination of parallel omni-frequency image restorations, as we observe a significant difference in the frequency distribution of normal and abnormal images. Given the correlation among multiple frequencies, we further propose a Channel Selection (CS) module that performs frequency interaction among different encoders by adaptively selecting different channels. Abundant experiments demonstrate the effectiveness and superiority of our approach over different kinds of methods, e.g., achieving a new state-of-the-art 98.3 detection AUC on the MVTec AD dataset without extra training data that markedly surpasses the reconstruction-based baseline by +38.1 ↑ and the current SOTA method by +0.3 ↑ . The source code is available in the additional materials.

2023 Adaptive Recurrent Forward Network for Dense Point Cloud Completion
abstract
Point cloud completion is an interesting and challenging task in 3D vision, which aims to recover complete shapes from sparse and incomplete point clouds. Existing completion networks often require a vast number of parameters and substantial computational costs to achieve a high performance level, which may limit their practical application. In this work, we propose a novel Adaptive efficient Recurrent Forward Network (ARFNet), which is composed of three parts: Recurrent Feature Extraction (RFE), Forward Dense Completion (FDC) and Raw Shape Protection (RSP). In an RFE, multiple short global features are extracted from incomplete point clouds, while a dense quantity of completed results are generated in a coarse-to-fine pipeline in the FDC. Finally, we propose the Adamerge module to preserve the details from the original models by merging the generated results with the original incomplete point clouds in the RSP. In addition, we introduce the Sampling Chamfer Distance to better capture the shapes of the models and the balanced expansion constraint to restrict the expansion distances from coarse to fine. According to the experiments on ShapeNet and KITTI, our network can achieve state-of-the-art completion performances on dense point clouds with fewer parameters, smaller model sizes, lower memory costs and a faster convergence.

2022 SCSNet: An Efficient Paradigm for Learning Simultaneously Image Colorization and Super-resolution
abstract
In the practical application of restoring low-resolution gray-scale images, we generally need to run three separate processes of image colorization, super-resolution, and dows-sampling operation for the target device. However, this pipeline is redundant and inefficient for the independent processes, and some inner features could have been shared. Therefore, we present an efficient paradigm to perform Simultaneously Image Colorization and Super-resolution (SCS) and propose an end-to-end SCSNet to achieve this goal. The proposed method consists of two parts: colorization branch for learning color information that employs the proposed plug-and-play Pyramid Valve Cross Attention (PVCAttn) module to aggregate feature maps between source and reference images; and super-resolution branch for integrating color and texture information to predict target images, which uses the designed Continuous Pixel Mapping (CPM) module to predict high-resolution images at continuous magnification. Furthermore, our SCSNet supports both automatic and referential modes that is more flexible for practical application. Abundant experiments demonstrate the superiority of our method for generating authentic images over state-of-the-art methods, e.g., averagely decreasing FID by 1.8 and 5.1 compared with current best scores for automatic and referential modes, respectively, while owning fewer parameters (more than x2) and faster running speed (more than x3).

2022 Region-Aware Face Swapping
abstract
This paper presents a novel Region-Aware Face Swapping (RAFSwap) network to achieve identity-consistent harmonious high-resolution face generation in a local-global manner: 1) Local Facial Region-Aware (FRA) branch augments local identity-relevant features by introducing the Transformer to effectively model misaligned crossscale semantic interaction. 2) Global Source Feature-Adaptive (SFA) branch further complements global identity-relevant cues for generating identity-consistent swapped faces. Besides, we propose a Face Mask Predictor (FMP) module incorporated with StyleGAN2 to predict identity-relevant soft facial masks in an unsupervised manner that is more practical for generating harmonious high-resolution faces. Abundant experiments qualitatively and quantitatively demonstrate the superiority of our method for generating more identity-consistent high-resolution swapped faces over SOTA methods, e.g., obtaining 96.70 ID retrieval that outperforms SOTA MegaFS by$5.87\uparrow$.

2022 Iterative Few-shot Semantic Segmentation from Image Label Text
abstract
Few-shot semantic segmentation aims to learn to segment unseen class objects with the guidance of only a few support images. Most previous methods rely on the pixel-level label of support images. In this paper, we focus on a more challenging setting, in which only the image-level labels are available. We propose a general framework to firstly generate coarse masks with the help of the powerful vision-language model CLIP, and then iteratively and mutually refine the mask predictions of support and query images. Extensive experiments on PASCAL-5i and COCO-20i datasets demonstrate that our method not only outperforms the state-of-the-art weakly supervised approaches by a significant margin, but also achieves comparable or better results to recent supervised methods. Moreover, our method owns an excellent generalization ability for the images in the wild and uncommon classes. Code will be available at https://github.com/Whileherham/IMR-HSNet.

2022 Real-Time Audio-Guided Multi-Face Reenactment
abstract
Audio-guided face reenactment aims to generate authentic target faces that have matched facial expression of the input audio, and many learning-based methods have successfully achieved this. However, most methods can only reenact a particular person once trained or suffer from the low-quality generation of the target images. Also, nearly none of the current reenactment works consider the model size and running speed that are important for practical use. To solve the above challenges, we propose an efficientAudio-guidedMulti-face reenactment model namedAMNet, which can reenact target faces among multiple persons with corresponding source faces and drive signals as inputs. Concretely, we design aGeometric Controller(GC) module to inject the drive signals so that the model can be optimized in an end-to-end manner and generate more authentic images. Also, we adopt a lightweight network for our face reenactor so that the model can run in real-time on both CPU and GPU devices. Abundant experiments prove our approach’s superiority over existing methods,e.g., averagely decreasing FID by 0.12$\downarrow$and increasing SSIM by 0.031$\uparrow$than APB2Face, while owning fewer parameters ($\times 4 \downarrow$) and faster CPU speed ($\times 4 \uparrow$).

2022 Multilevel Spatial-Temporal Feature Aggregation for Video Object Detection
abstract
Video object detection (VOD) focuses on detecting objects for each frame in a video, which is a challenging task due to appearance deterioration in certain video frames. Recent works usually distill crucial information from multiple support frames to improve the reference features, but they only perform at frame level or proposal level that cannot integrate spatial-temporal features sufficiently. To deal with this challenge, we treat VOD as a spatial-temporal hierarchical features interacting process and introduce a Multi-level Spatial-Temporal (MST) feature aggregation framework to fully exploit frame-level, proposal-level, and instance-level information in a unified framework. Specifically, MST first measures context similarity in pixel space to enhance all frame-level features rather than only update reference features. The proposal-level feature aggregation then models object relation to augment reference object proposals. Furthermore, to filter out irrelevant information from other classes and backgrounds, we introduce an instance ID constraint to boost instance-level features by leveraging support object proposal features that belong to the same object. Besides, we propose a Deformable Feature Alignment (DAlign) module before MST to achieve a more accurate pixel-level spatial alignment for better feature aggregation. Extensive experiments are conducted on ImageNet VID and UAVDT datasets that demonstrate the superiority of our method over state-of-the-art (SOTA) methods. Our method achieves 83.3% and 62.1% with ResNet-101 on two datasets, outperforming SOTA MEGA by 0.4% and 2.7%.

2022 3QNet: 3D Point Cloud Geometry Quantization Compression Network
abstract
Since the development of 3D applications, the point cloud, as a spatial description easily acquired by sensors, has been widely used in multiple areas such as SLAM and 3D reconstruction. Point Cloud Compression (PCC) has also attracted more attention as a primary step before point cloud transferring and saving, where the geometry compression is an important component of PCC to compress the points geometrical structures. However, existing non-learning-based geometry compression methods are often limited by manually pre-defined compression rules. Though learning-based compression methods can significantly improve the algorithm performances by learning compression rules from data, they still have some defects. Voxel-based compression networks introduce precision errors due to the voxelized operations, while point-based methods may have relatively weak robustness and are mainly designed for sparse point clouds. In this work, we propose a novel learning-based point cloud compression framework named 3D Point Cloud Geometry Quantiation Compression Network (3QNet), which overcomes the robustness limitation of existing point-based methods and can handle dense points. By learning a codebook including common structural features from simple and sparse shapes, 3QNet can efficiently deal with multiple kinds of point clouds. According to experiments on object models, indoor scenes, and outdoor scans, 3QNet can achieve better compression performances than many representative methods.

2021 RFNet: Recurrent Forward Network for Dense Point Cloud Completion
abstract
Point cloud completion is an interesting and challenging task in 3D vision, aiming to recover complete shapes from sparse and incomplete point clouds. Existing learning-based methods often require vast computation cost to achieve excellent performance, which limits their practical applications. In this paper, we propose a novel Recurrent Forward Network (RFNet), which is composed of three modules: Recurrent Feature Extraction (RFE), Forward Dense Completion (FDC) and Raw Shape Protection (RSP). The RFE extracts multiple global features from the incomplete point clouds for different recurrent levels, and the FDC generates point clouds in a coarse-to-fine pipeline. The RSP introduces details from the original incomplete models to refine the completion results. 2021 Analogous to Evolutionary Algorithm: Designing a Unified Sequence Model
abstract
Inspired by biological evolution, we explain the rationality of Vision Transformer by analogy with the proven practical Evolutionary Algorithm (EA) and derive that both of them have consistent mathematical representation. Analogous to the dynamic local population in EA, we improve the existing transformer structure and propose a more efficient EAT model, and design task-related heads to deal with different tasks more flexibly. Moreover, we introduce the spatial-filling curve into the current vision transformer to sequence image data into a uniform sequential format. Thus we can design a unified EAT framework to address multi-modal tasks, separating the network architecture from the data format adaptation. Our approach achieves state-of-the-art results on the ImageNet classification task compared with recent vision transformer works while having smaller parameters and greater throughput. We further conduct multi-modal tasks to demonstrate the superiority of the unified EAT, \eg, Text-Based Image Retrieval, and our approach improves the rank-1 by +3.7 points over the baseline on the CSS dataset.

2020 Realistic Face Reenactment via Self-Supervised Disentangling of Identity and Pose
abstract
Recent works have shown how realistic talking face images can be obtained under the supervision of geometry guidance, e.g., facial landmark or boundary. To alleviate the demand for manual annotations, in this paper, we propose a novel self-supervised hybrid model (DAE-GAN) that learns how to reenact face naturally given large amounts of unlabeled videos. Our approach combines two deforming autoencoders with the latest advances in the conditional generation. On the one hand, we adopt the deforming autoencoder to disentangle identity and pose representations. A strong prior in talking face videos is that each frame can be encoded as two parts: one for video-specific identity and the other for various poses. Inspired by that, we utilize a multi-frame deforming autoencoder to learn a pose-invariant embedded face for each video. Meanwhile, a multi-scale deforming autoencoder is proposed to extract pose-related information for each frame. On the other hand, the conditional generator allows for enhancing fine details and overall reality. It leverages the disentangled features to generate photo-realistic and pose-alike face images. We evaluate our model on VoxCeleb1 and RaFD dataset. Experiment results demonstrate the superior quality of reenacted images and the flexibility of transferring facial movements between identities.

2020 Learning by Analogy: Reliable Supervision From Transformations for Unsupervised Optical Flow Estimation
abstract
Unsupervised learning of optical flow, which leverages the supervision from view synthesis, has emerged as a promising alternative to supervised methods. However, the objective of unsupervised learning is likely to be unreliable in challenging scenes. In this work, we present a framework to use more reliable supervision from transformations. It simply twists the general unsupervised learning pipeline by running another forward pass with transformed data from augmentation, along with using transformed predictions of original data as the self-supervision signal. Besides, we further introduce a lightweight network with multiple frames by a highly-shared flow decoder. Our method consistently gets a leap of performance on several benchmarks with the best accuracy among deep unsupervised methods. Also, our method achieves competitive results to recent fully supervised methods while with much fewer parameters.

2020 FReeNet: Multi-Identity Face Reenactment
abstract
This paper presents a novel multi-identity face reenactment framework, named FReeNet, to transfer facial expressions from an arbitrary source face to a target face with a shared model. The proposed FReeNet consists of two parts: Unified Landmark Converter (ULC) and Geometry-aware Generator (GAG). The ULC adopts an encode-decoder architecture to efficiently convert expression in a latent landmark space, which significantly narrows the gap of the face contour between source and target identities. The GAG leverages the converted landmark to reenact the photorealistic image with a reference image of the target person. Moreover, a new triplet perceptual loss is proposed to force the GAG module to learn appearance and geometry information simultaneously, which also enriches facial details of the reenacted images. Further experiments demonstrate the superiority of our approach for generating photorealistic and expression-alike faces, as well as the flexibility for transferring facial expressions between identities.

2020 APB2FACE: Audio-Guided Face Reenactment with Auxiliary Pose and Blink Signals
abstract
Audio-guided face reenactment aims at generating photorealistic faces using audio information while maintaining the same facial movement as when speaking to a real person. However, existing methods can not generate vivid face images or only reenact low-resolution faces, which limits the application value. To solve those problems, we propose a novel deep neural network named APB2Face, which consists of GeometryPredictor and FaceReenactor modules. GeometryPredictor uses extra head pose and blink state signals as well as audio to predict the latent landmark geometry information, while FaceReenactor inputs the face landmark image to reenact the photorealistic face. A new dataset AnnV I collected from YouTube is presented to support the approach, and experimental results indicate the superiority of our method than state-of-the-arts, whether in authenticity or controllability.
