| 2025 | Co-Designed Communication and Computing for Data Reliability in Industrial Cyber-Physical Systems With Cloud-Fog AutomationabstractThe Cloud-Fog Automation is a newly proposed digital industrial automation architecture aimed at accelerating the integration and collaboration of communication, computing, and control towards next-generation cyber-physical systems (CPSs). Data reliability is one of the key considerations for achieving Cloud-Fog Automation. Sensor nodes serve as infrastructures for data collection within industrial CPSs and are essential for maintaining ultra-high data reliability. However, the underlying sensor nodes communicate frequently, are damage-prone and difficult to identify, which dramatically shortens the network lifetime and poses great challenges to data reliability. Motivated by this fact, this paper co-designs communication architecture, algorithms, and computing models for next-generation industrial CPSs with Cloud-Fog Automation to ensure data reliability and functional security. First, a four-layer energy-efficient communication architecture is proposed and a cluster head computing algorithm based on double deep Q-learning (CH-DDQ) is designed inside the architecture. Besides, a 2-stage hyBrid fault detection scheme (2-Brain) is proposed for underlying sensor nodes. 2-Brain first incorporates the Obstacle Triple Jump Protocol (OTP) and OTP packets to improve hard fault detection performance. Then, an unsupervised sensor reading soft fault detection model (SR-SFD) based on contrastive learning, momentum, and tensor is adopted to learn discriminative representations of sensor readings and identify soft faults. Simulations and a case study in the nuclear power industry manifest CH-DDQ improves the network lifetime by 5.4%~484.3% compared to three peer methods, and OTP performs better than baselines by 33.1% on average. Additionally, SR-SFD exhibits high efficiency in sensor soft fault detection and other application scenarios. | 2024 | Multi-View Tri-Alignment Multi-Expert for Multi-Domain Fake News DetectionabstractThe widespread dissemination of fake news is increasingly threatening individuals and society in various domains, covering politics, health, and other aspects. It is necessary to enhance the performance of multi-domain fake news detection in the real world. Among the current works on this task, some focus on the domain difference simply, while others only consider invariant features. However, those approaches do not consider the fusion between domain differences and invariant features, imbalance under diverse cross-domain with long-tailed distribution. In this paper, Multi-view Triple-alignment Multi-expert (MTM) is proposed to address those two problems. Specifically, through extracting various representations from different views, the Multi-View Information Fusion module is applied to project the representation of a news post to the fusion feature space. Then, before the inference process, a multiple expert block is designed to discriminate on different domains for avoiding cross-domain noise. During the model training stage, through triple alignment, we align the multi-view features of each sample, the core features used to infer, and the domain features of each expert, respectively. Extensive experiments on English and Chinese datasets exhibit the effectiveness of this model. In its optimal scenario, MTM demonstrates the capability to surpass the best baseline by 5.3% in F1-socre, under conditions of rich multi-domain information. Ruolei Yi, Zhenkun Jin, Xinlei Zhou |

| 2024 | A long-short dual-mode knowledge distillation framework for empirical asset pricing models in digital financial networksabstractThe continuous combination of digital network technology and traditional financial services has given birth to digital financial networks, which explore massive economic data under the AI-driven models to achieve intelligent connections among financial institutions, markets, transactions, and instruments. Empirical asset pricing is a challenging task in financial analysis, which has attracted research attention. However, existing studies only focus on tackling the challenges of equity risk premium in the single stock market. Considering multiple economic linkages between the two countries, the transaction history of the US stock market as empirical knowledge is a powerful supplement to improve the prediction of equity risk premium in the China market. In this paper, we aim to fully leverage the prior information in two stock markets for empirical asset pricing models. Due to the rich financial domain knowledge, there may be various characteristic signals that partially overlap in different periods. To address these issues, we propose a framework based on long-short dual-mode knowledge distillation, termed as LSDM-KD, which incorporates US and China stock market models, and a shared characteristic signals model. The method effectively understands the relationships between assets and market behaviour, reducing reliance on expensive correlation databases and professional knowledge. Extensive experiments conducted on US and China stock market datasets demonstrate that our LSDM-KD can significantly improve the performance of empirical asset pricing. | 2024 | Human action recognition in immersive virtual reality based on multi-scale spatio-temporal attention networkabstractAbstract Wearable human action recognition (HAR) has practical applications in daily life. However, traditional HAR methods solely focus on identifying user movements, lacking interactivity and user engagement. This paper proposes a novel immersive HAR method called MovPosVR. Virtual reality (VR) technology is employed to create realistic scenes and enhance the user experience. To improve the accuracy of user action recognition in immersive HAR, a multi‐scale spatio‐temporal attention network (MSSTANet) is proposed. The network combines the convolutional residual squeeze and excitation (CRSE) module with the multi‐branch convolution and long short‐term memory (MCLSTM) module to extract spatio‐temporal features and automatically select relevant features from action signals. Additionally, a multi‐head attention with shared linear mechanism (MHASLM) module is designed to facilitate information interaction, further enhancing feature extraction and improving accuracy. The MSSTANet network achieves superior performance, with accuracy rates of 99.33% and 98.83% on the publicly available WISDM and PAMPA2 datasets, respectively, surpassing state‐of‐the‐art networks. Our method showcases the potential to display user actions and position information in a virtual world, enriching user experiences and interactions across diverse application scenarios. | 2023 | A Review of Generalized Zero-Shot Learning MethodsabstractGeneralized zero-shot learning (GZSL) aims to train a model for classifying data samples under the condition that some output classes are unknown during supervised learning. To address this challenging task, GZSL leverages semantic information of the seen (source) and unseen (target) classes to bridge the gap between both seen and unseen classes. Since its introduction, many GZSL models have been formulated. In this review paper, we present a comprehensive review on GZSL. First, we provide an overview of GZSL including the problems and challenges. Then, we introduce a hierarchical categorization for the GZSL methods and discuss the representative methods in each category. In addition, we discuss the available benchmark data sets and applications of GZSL, along with a discussion on the research gaps and directions for future investigations.
