1978 NEWCLUST: An Algorithm for the Topological Design of Two-Level, Multidrop Teleprocessing Networks
abstract
A new heuristic algorithm for the design of multidrop teleprocessing networks with concentrators is presented. The algorithm selects a set of candidate concentrator locations by using a clustering procedure and then obtains the final concentrator locations by a "drop" routine. The use of the terminal clusters, called "super-nodes", instead of the terminals themselves, in the cost optimization procedure, yields designs having smaller costs and much smaller execution times compared to the ones obtained by two other well-known heuristics.

1978 A Hybrid Channel Assignment Scheme in Large-Scale, Cellular-Structured Mobile Communication Systems
abstract
This paper considers the problem of channel assignment in mobile communication systems, where the service area is divided in hexagonal cells. In particular, a Hybrid Channel Assignment Scheme is studied and certain results are obtained using GPSS simulation of a model 40-cell system.

1976 Buffer Behavior with Poisson Arrivals and Bulk Geometric Service
abstract
This correspondence considers a buffered system with Poisson arrivals andmoutput channels subjected to geometrically distributed interruptions. The generating function of the buffet occupancy is derived and is a transcendental function. An example demonstrates the results.
