2026 PromptMoE: Generalizable Zero-Shot Anomaly Detection via Visually-Guided Prompt Mixtures
abstract
Zero-Shot Anomaly Detection (ZSAD) aims to identify and localize anomalous regions in images of unseen object classes. While recent methods based on vision-language models like CLIP show promise, their performance is constrained by existing prompt engineering strategies. Current approaches, whether relying on single fixed, learnable, or dense dynamic prompts, suffer from a representational bottleneck and are prone to overfitting on auxiliary data, failing to generalize to the complexity and diversity of unseen anomalies. To overcome these limitations, we propose PromptMoE. Our core insight is that robust ZSAD requires a compositional approach to prompt learning. Instead of learning monolithic prompts, PromptMoE learns a pool of expert prompts, which serve as a basis set of composable semantic primitives, and a visually-guided Mixture-of-Experts (MoE) mechanism to dynamically combine them for each instance. Our framework materializes this concept through a Visually-Guided Mixture of Prompt (VGMoP) that employs an image-gated sparse MoE to aggregate diverse normal and abnormal expert state prompts, generating semantically rich textual representations with strong generalization. Extensive experiments across 15 datasets in industrial and medical domains demonstrate the effectiveness and state-of-the-art performance of PromptMoE.

2026 Hybrid-Driven State Estimation With Adaptive Cross-Coupled Priors: Enhancing Data Representation and Model Robustness
abstract
This article addresses the integration of model-driven and data-driven approaches for robust hybrid-driven state estimation under limited data and model uncertainties. An unsupervised hybrid estimation framework, termed adaptive model-driven and data-driven (AMD), is proposed. AMD employs an adaptive cross-coupled prior mechanism within the Bayesian inference paradigm to integrate prior information. A two-stage fusion strategy is introduced: an initial hard fusion of model pseudomeasurements and data-driven priors, followed by an adaptive soft fusion that adjusts model influence based on reconstruction discrepancies, thereby enhancing robustness to imperfect model priors. To capture complex nonlinear transition dynamics, a dynamic bilinear recurrent module has been developed, tailored to the system's underlying behavior. The AMD framework adopts a nonidentical training-testing strategy and an unsupervised hybrid learning objective inspired by the information bottleneck principle, enabling accurate parameter learning without access to ground-truth states. Extensive experiments on multiple nonlinear chaotic systems have demonstrated that AMD consistently achieves competitive or superior estimation accuracy compared to state-of-the-art model-based and hybrid approaches, particularly under underdetermined estimation, model mismatch, and dynamic disturbances. These results demonstrate AMD's capability to effectively leverage limited information through complementary fusion, thereby enhancing both data representation and model robustness. This adaptability positions AMD as a powerful solution for challenging state estimation problems.

2024 Fine-Grained Recognition of Manipulation Activities on Objects via Multi-Modal Sensing
abstract
Fine-grained recognition of human manipulation activities on objects is crucial in the era of human-computer-object integration. However, there is a lack of solutions for simultaneous recognition of human identity, manipulation activities (including drawing and rotation), and manipulated objects. Therefore, we propose an RF-Camera system that combines RFID and computer vision techniques to address this challenge in multi-person and multi-object scenarios. In RF-Camera, we employ a skeleton-assisted method to extract facial images of target individuals, enabling precise recognition of their identities. To identify manipulation activities, we analyze the 3D hand trajectory and fingertip vector angle, differentiating drawing and rotation manipulation activities. Additionally, we model target person?s hand movements to predict phase data of the target tag, enabling the determination of person-object relationships. Implementing RF-Camera using COTS RFID and Kinect devices involves overcoming challenges such as extracting effective data from noisy streams, predicting virtual phase data considering hand-tag offset, and ensuring high tag reading rates in tag-dense scenarios. We conducted experiments involving six participants performing object manipulation activities, including drawing letters/symbols and rotating movements. Extensive experimental results show that RF-Camera achieves over 90% accuracy in recognizing person identity, manipulation activities, and person-object matching in most conditions.
