| 2026 | OptMark: Robust Multi-bit Diffusion Watermarking via Inference Time OptimizationabstractWatermarking diffusion-generated images is crucial for copyright protection and user tracking. However, current diffusion watermarking methods face significant limitations: zero-bit watermarking systems lack the capacity for large-scale user tracking, while multi-bit methods are highly sensitive to certain image transformations or generative attacks, resulting in a lack of comprehensive robustness. In this paper, we propose OptMark, an optimization-based approach that embeds a robust multi-bit watermark into the intermediate latents of the diffusion denoising process. OptMark strategically inserts a structural watermark early to resist generative attacks and a detail watermark late to withstand image transformations, with tailored regularization terms to preserve image quality and ensure imperceptibility. To address the challenge of memory consumption growing linearly with the number of denoising steps during optimization, OptMark incorporates adjoint gradient methods, reducing memory usage from O(N) to O(1). Experimental results demonstrate that OptMark achieves invisible multi-bit watermarking while ensuring robust resilience against valuemetric transformations, geometric transformations, editing, and regeneration attacks. | 2026 | CyC3D: Fine-grained Controllable 3D Generation via Cycle Consistency RegularizationabstractDespite the remarkable progress of 3D generation, achieving controllability, i.e., ensuring consistency between generated 3D content and input conditions like edge and depth, remains a significant challenge. Existing methods often struggle to maintain accurate alignment, leading to noticeable discrepancies. To address this issue, we propose CyC3D, a new framework that enhances controllable 3D generation by explicitly encouraging cyclic consistency between the second-order 3D content, generated based on extracted signals from the first-order generation, and its original input controls. Specifically, we employ an efficient feed-forward backbone that can generate a 3D object from an input condition and a text prompt. Given an initial viewpoint and a control signal, a novel view is rendered from the generated 3D content, from which the extracted condition is used to regenerate the 3D content. This re-generated output is then rendered back to the initial viewpoint, followed by another round of control signal extraction, forming a cyclic process with two consistency constraints. View consistency ensures coherence between the two generated 3D objects, measured by semantic similarity to accommodate generative diversity. Condition consistency aligns the final extracted signal with the original input control, preserving structural or geometric details throughout the process. Extensive experiments on popular benchmarks demonstrate that CyC3D significantly improves controllability, especially for fine-grained details, outperforming existing methods across various conditions (e.g., +14.17% PSNR for edge, +6.26% PSNR for sketch). | 2025 | CFSum: A Transformer-Based Multi-Modal Video Summarization Framework With Coarse-Fine FusionabstractVideo summarization, by selecting the most informative and/or user-relevant parts of original videos to create concise summary videos, has high research value and consumer demand in today’s video proliferation era. Multi-modal video summarization that accomodates user input has become a research hotspot. However, current multi-modal video summarization methods suffer from two limitations. First, existing methods inadequately fuse information from different modalities and cannot effectively utilize modality-unique features. Second, most multi-modal methods focus on video and text modalities, neglecting the audio modality, despite the fact that audio information can be very useful in certain types of videos. In this paper we propose CFSum, a transformer-based multi-modal video summarization framework with coarse-fine fusion. CFSum exploits video, text, and audio modal features as input, and incorporates a two-stage transformer-based feature fusion framework to fully utilize modality-unique information. In the first stage, multi-modal features are fused simultaneously to perform initial coarse-grained feature fusion, then, in the second stage, video and audio features are explicitly attended with the text representation yielding more fine-grained information interaction. The CFSum architecture gives equal importance to each modality, ensuring that each modal feature interacts deeply with the other modalities. Our extensive comparative experiments against prior methods and ablation studies on various datasets confirm the effectiveness and superiority of CFSum. | 2025 | UniLumos: Fast and Unified Image and Video Relighting with Physics-Plausible FeedbackabstractRelighting is a crucial task with both practical demand and artistic value, and recent diffusion models have shown strong potential by enabling rich and controllable lighting effects. However, as they are typically optimized in semantic latent space, where proximity does not guarantee physical correctness in visual space, they often produce unrealistic results—such as overexposed highlights, misaligned shadows, and incorrect occlusions. We address this with **UniLumos**, a unified relighting framework for both images and videos that brings RGB-space geometry feedback into a flow-matching backbone. By supervising the model with depth and normal maps extracted from its outputs, we explicitly align lighting effects with the scene structure, enhancing physical plausibility. Nevertheless, this feedback requires high-quality outputs for supervision in visual space, making standard multi-step denoising computationally expensive. To mitigate this, we employ path consistency learning, allowing supervision to remain effective even under few-step training regimes. To enable fine-grained relighting control and supervision, we design a structured six-dimensional annotation protocol capturing core illumination attributes. Building upon this, we propose **LumosBench**, a disentangled attribute-level benchmark that evaluates lighting controllability via large vision-language models, enabling automatic and interpretable assessment of relighting precision across individual dimensions. Extensive experiments demonstrate that UniLumos achieves state-of-the-art relighting quality with significantly improved physical consistency, while delivering a 20x speedup for both image and video relighting. | 2025 | ActionCLIP: Adapting Language-Image Pretrained Models for Video Action RecognitionabstractThe canonical approach to video action recognition dictates a neural network model to do a classic and standard 1-of-N majority vote task. They are trained to predict a fixed set of predefined categories, limiting their transferability on new datasets with unseen concepts. In this article, we provide a new perspective on action recognition by attaching importance to the semantic information of label texts rather than simply mapping them into numbers. Specifically, we model this task as a video-text matching problem within a multimodal learning framework, which strengthens the video representation with more semantic language supervision and enables our model to do zero-shot action recognition without any further labeled data or parameters' requirements. Moreover, to handle the deficiency of label texts and make use of tremendous web data, we propose a new paradigm based on this multimodal learning framework for action recognition, which we dub "pre-train, adapt and fine-tune." This paradigm first learns powerful representations from pre-training on a large amount of web image-text or video-text data. Then, it makes the action recognition task to act more like pre-training problems via adaptation engineering. Finally, it is fine-tuned end-to-end on target datasets to obtain strong performance. We give an instantiation of the new paradigm, ActionCLIP, which not only has superior and flexible zero-shot/few-shot transfer ability but also reaches a top performance on general action recognition task, achieving 83.8% top-1 accuracy on Kinetics-400 with a ViT-B/16 as the backbone. | 2024 | A Multimodal, Multi-Task Adapting Framework for Video Action RecognitionabstractRecently, the rise of large-scale vision-language pretrained models like CLIP, coupled with the technology of Parameter-Efficient FineTuning (PEFT), has captured substantial attraction in video action recognition. Nevertheless, prevailing approaches tend to prioritize strong supervised performance at the expense of compromising the models' generalization capabilities during transfer. In this paper, we introduce a novel Multimodal, Multi-task CLIP adapting framework named M2-CLIP to address these challenges, preserving both high supervised performance and robust transferability. Firstly, to enhance the individual modality architectures, we introduce multimodal adapters to both the visual and text branches. Specifically, we design a novel visual TED-Adapter, that performs global Temporal Enhancement and local temporal Difference modeling to improve the temporal representation capabilities of the visual encoder. Moreover, we adopt text encoder adapters to strengthen the learning of semantic label information. Secondly, we design a multi-task decoder with a rich set of supervisory signals, including the original contrastive learning head, a cross-modal classification head, a cross-modal masked language modeling head, and a visual classification head. This multi-task decoder adeptly satisfies the need for strong supervised performance within a multimodal framework. Experimental results validate the efficacy of our approach, demonstrating exceptional performance in supervised learning while maintaining strong generalization in zero-shot scenarios. | 2024 | SDSTrack: Self-Distillation Symmetric Adapter Learning for Multi-Modal Visual Object TrackingabstractMultimodal Visual Object Tracking (VOT) has recently gained significant attention due to its robustness. Early research focused on fully fine-tuning RGB-based trackers, which was inefficient and lacked generalized representation due to the scarcity of multimodal data. Therefore, recent studies have utilized prompt tuning to transfer pre-trained RGB-based trackers to multimodal data. However, the modality gap limits pre-trained knowledge recall, and the dominance of the RGB modality persists, preventing the full utilization of information from other modalities. To address these issues, we propose a novel symmetric multimodal tracking framework called SDSTrack. We introduce lightweight adaptation for efficient fine-tuning, which directly transfers the feature extraction ability from RGB to other domains with a small number of trainable parameters and integrates multimodal features in a balanced, symmetric manner. Furthermore, we design a complementary masked patch distillation strategy to enhance the robustness of trackers in complex environments, such as extreme weather, poor imaging, and sensor failure. Extensive experiments demonstrate that SDSTrack outperforms state-of-the-art methods in various multimodal tracking scenarios, including RGB+Depth, RGB+Thermal, and RGB+Event tracking, and exhibits impressive results in extreme conditions. | 2024 | FaceChain-ImagineID: Freely Crafting High-Fidelity Diverse Talking Faces from Disentangled AudioabstractIn this paper, we abstract the process of people hearing speech, extracting meaningful cues, and creating vari-ous dynamically audio-consistent talking faces, termed Lis-tening and Imagining, into the task of high-fidelity diverse talking faces generation from a single audio. Specifically, it involves two critical challenges: one is to effectively de-couple identity, content, and emotion from entangled au-dio, and the other is to maintain intra-video diversity and inter- video consistency. To tackle the issues, we first dig out the intricate relationships among facial factors and sim-plify the decoupling process, tailoring a Progressive Audio Disentanglement for accurate facial geometry and seman-tics learning, where each stage incorporates a customized training module responsible for a specific factor. Secondly, to achieve visually diverse and audio-synchronized animation solely from input audio within a single model, we intro-duce the Controllable Coherent Frame generation, which involves the flexible integration of three trainable adapters with frozen Latent Diffusion Models (LDMs) to focus on maintaining facial geometry and semantics, as well as texsture and temporal coherence between frames. In this way, we inherit high-quality diverse generation from LDMs while significantly improving their controllability at a low training cost. Extensive experiments demonstrate the flexibility and effectiveness of our method in handling this paradigm. The codes will be released at FaceChain. | 2024 | HOGDA: Boosting Semi-supervised Graph Domain Adaptation via High-Order Structure-Guided Adaptive Feature AlignmentabstractSemi-supervised graph domain adaptation, as a subfield of graph transfer learning, seeks to precisely annotate unlabeled target graph nodes by leveraging transferable features acquired from the limited labeled source nodes. However, most existing studies often directly utilize graph convolutional networks (GCNs)-based feature extractors to capture domain-invariant node features, while neglecting the issue that GCNs are insufficient in collecting complex structure information in graph. Considering the importance of graph structure information in encoding the complex relationship among nodes and edges, this paper aims to utilize such powerful information to assist graph transfer learning. To achieve this goal, we develop a novel framework called HOGDA. Concretely, HOGDA introduces a high-order structure information mixing (HSIM) module to effectively capture abundant structure information in graph, greatly enhancing the feature extractor's ability to adapt across different domains. Moreover, to achieve fine-grained feature distributions alignment, a novel strategy called adaptive weighted domain alignment (AWDA) is proposed to dynamically adjust the node weight during adversarial domain adaptation process, effectively boosting the model's transfer ability. Furthermore, to mitigate the overfitting phenomenon caused by limited source labeled nodes, we also design a trust-aware node clustering (TNC) strategy to guide the unlabeled nodes to achieve discriminative clustering. Extensive experimental results show that our HOGDA outperforms the state-of-the-art methods on various transfer tasks. | 2023 | Revisiting the Spatial and Temporal Modeling for Few-Shot Action RecognitionabstractSpatial and temporal modeling is one of the most core aspects of few-shot action recognition. Most previous works mainly focus on long-term temporal relation modeling based on high-level spatial representations, without considering the crucial low-level spatial features and short-term temporal relations. Actually, the former feature could bring rich local semantic information, and the latter feature could represent motion characteristics of adjacent frames, respectively. In this paper, we propose SloshNet, a new framework that revisits the spatial and temporal modeling for few-shot action recognition in a finer manner. First, to exploit the low-level spatial features, we design a feature fusion architecture search module to automatically search for the best combination of the low-level and high-level spatial features. Next, inspired by the recent transformer, we introduce a long-term temporal modeling module to model the global temporal relations based on the extracted spatial appearance features. Meanwhile, we design another short-term temporal modeling module to encode the motion characteristics between adjacent frame representations. After that, the final predictions can be obtained by feeding the embedded rich spatial-temporal features to a common frame-level class prototype matcher. We extensively validate the proposed SloshNet on four few-shot action recognition datasets, including Something-Something V2, Kinetics, UCF101, and HMDB51. It achieves favorable results against state-of-the-art methods in all datasets. Jiazheng Xing, Mengmeng Wang 0005, Yong Liu 0007, Boyu Mu |

| 2023 | Boosting Few-shot Action Recognition with Graph-guided Hybrid MatchingabstractClass prototype construction and matching are core aspects of few-shot action recognition. Previous methods mainly focus on designing spatiotemporal relation modeling modules or complex temporal alignment algorithms. Despite the promising results, they ignored the value of class prototype construction and matching, leading to unsatisfactory performance in recognizing similar categories in every task. In this paper, we propose GgHM, a new framework with Graph-guided Hybrid Matching. Concretely, we learn task-oriented features by the guidance of a graph neural network during class prototype construction, optimizing the intra- and inter-class feature correlation explicitly. Next, we design a hybrid matching strategy, combining frame-level and tuple-level matching to classify videos with multivariate styles. We additionally propose a learnable dense temporal modeling module to enhance the video feature temporal representation to build a more solid foundation for the matching process. GgHM shows consistent improvements over other challenging baselines on several few-shot datasets, demonstrating the effectiveness of our method. | 2023 | Learning SpatioTemporal and Motion Features in a Unified 2D Network for Action RecognitionabstractRecent methods for action recognition always apply 3D Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs) to extract spatiotemporal features and introduce optical flows to present motion features. Although achieving state-of-the-art performance, they are expensive in both time and space. In this paper, we propose to represent both two kinds of features in a unified 2D CNN without any 3D convolution or optical flows calculation. In particular, we first design a channel-wise spatiotemporal module to present the spatiotemporal features and a channel-wise motion module to encode feature-level motion features efficiently. Besides, we provide a distinctive illustration of the two modules from the frequency domain by interpreting them as advanced and learnable versions of frequency components. Second, we combine these two modules and an identity mapping path into one united block that can easily replace the original residual block in the ResNet architecture, forming a simple yet effective network dubbed STM network by introducing very limited extra computation cost and parameters. Third, we propose a novel Twins Training framework for action recognition by incorporating a correlation loss to optimize the inter-class and intra-class correlation and a siamese structure to fully stretch the training data. We extensively validate the proposed STM on both temporal-related datasets (i.e., Something-Something v1 & v2) and scene-related datasets (i.e., Kinetics-400, UCF-101, and HMDB-51). It achieves favorable results against state-of-the-art methods in all the datasets. Mengmeng Wang 0005, Jiazheng Xing, Jing Su 0005, Jun Chen 0023, Yong Liu 0007 |
