2024 An Impulse Ghost Fluid Method for Simulating Two-Phase Flows
abstract
This paper introduces a two-phase interfacial fluid model based on the impulse variable to capture complex vorticity-interface interactions. Our key idea is to leverage bidirectional flow map theory to enhance the transport accuracy of both vorticity and interfaces simultaneously and address their coupling within a unified Eulerian framework. At the heart of our framework is an impulse ghost fluid method to solve the two-phase incompressible fluid characterized by its interfacial dynamics. To deal with the history-dependent jump of gauge variables across a dynamic interface, we develop a novel path integral formula empowered by spatiotemporal buffers to convert the history-dependent jump condition into a geometry-dependent jump condition when projecting impulse to velocity. We demonstrate the efficacy of our approach in simulating and visualizing several interface-vorticity interaction problems with cross-phase vortical evolution, including interfacial whirlpool, vortex ring reflection, and leapfrogging bubble rings.

2022 Diverse Image Colorizaiton via Deep Color Prior and Triplet Latent Regularization
abstract
Automatic image colorization has made tremendous progress in recent years. However, previous methods rarely consider the inherent diversity of natural images, and existing diverse colorization approaches still suffer from the following two limitations. i) The diversity of generated images is limited. ii) Some inevitable artifacts substantially degrade the quality of colorization results. To cope with such problems, we propose a novel diverse image colorization network based on vanilla GAN, which extracts the deep color priors through an initial colorization network first, and then utilizes these priors to modulate the diverse generation to achieve high-fidelity colorization outputs. In addition, a novel triplet latent regularization is proposed to constrain the correspondence between latent codes and generated images, which efficiently alleviates mode collapse and encourages more diverse colorization results. Extensive experiments on three benchmark datasets demonstrate the superiority of our method over existing diverse image colorization models.

2021 Improving Lexical-Constraint-Aware Machine Translation by Factoring Encoders
abstract
Existing lexically constrained machine translation employs data augmentation and incorporates lexical constraints during decoding period, which requires a bilingual dictionary or costs much decoding time. In this paper, we propose a simple but effective method to leverage lexical constraints. We use separate encoders to encode source sentence and lexical constraints, with self-attention layer mask to disentangle the two encoding subtasks. Our method does not require bilingual dictionaries or modify decoding process. Experiments on WMT 2016 English-German (En-De) and IWSLT 2017 English-Chinese (En-Zh) datasets show that our method gains improvement compared to baseline models.
