| 2026 | When Trackers Date Fish: A Benchmark and Framework for Underwater Multiple Fish TrackingabstractMultiple object tracking (MOT) technology has made significant progress in terrestrial applications, but underwater tracking scenarios remain underexplored despite their importance to marine ecology and aquaculture. In this paper, we present Multiple Fish Tracking Dataset 2025 (MFT25), a comprehensive dataset specifically designed for underwater multiple fish tracking, featuring 15 diverse video sequences with 408,578 meticulously annotated bounding boxes across 48,066 frames. Our dataset captures various underwater environments, fish species, and challenging conditions including occlusions, similar appearances, and erratic motion patterns. Additionally, we introduce Scale-aware and Unscented Tracker (SU-T), a specialized tracking framework featuring an Unscented Kalman Filter (UKF) optimized for non-linear swimming patterns of fish and a novel Fish-Intersection-over-Union (FishIoU) matching that accounts for the unique morphological characteristics of aquatic species. Extensive experiments demonstrate that our SU-T baseline achieves state-of-the-art performance on MFT25, with 34.1 HOTA and 44.6 IDF1, while revealing fundamental differences between fish tracking and terrestrial object tracking scenarios. | 2025 | MMTL-UniAD: A Unified Framework for Multimodal and Multi-Task Learning in Assistive Driving PerceptionabstractAdvanced driver assistance systems require a comprehensive understanding of the driver’s mental/physical state and traffic context but existing works often neglect the potential benefits of joint learning between these tasks. This paper proposes MMTL-UniAD, a unified multi-modal multitask learning framework that simultaneously recognizes driver behavior (e.g., looking around, talking), driver emotion (e.g., anxiety, happiness), vehicle behavior (e.g., parking, turning), and traffic context (e.g., traffic jam, traffic smooth). A key challenge is avoiding negative transfer between tasks, which can impair learning performance. To address this, we introduce two key components into the framework: one is the multi-axis region attention network to extract global context-sensitive features, and the other is the dual-branch multimodal embedding to learn multi-modal embeddings from both task-shared and task-specific features. The former uses a multi-attention mechanism to extract task-relevant features, mitigating negative transfer caused by task-unrelated features. The latter employs a dual-branch structure to adaptively adjust task-shared and task-specific parameters, enhancing cross-task knowledge transfer while reducing task conflicts. We assess MMTL-UniAD on the AIDE dataset, using a series of ablation studies, and show that it outperforms state-of-the-art methods across all four tasks. | 2025 | TEM3-Learning: Time-Efficient Multimodal Multi-Task Learning for Advanced Assistive DrivingabstractMulti-task learning (MTL) can advance assistive driving by exploring inter-task correlations through shared representations. However, existing methods face two critical limitations: single-modality constraints limiting comprehensive scene understanding and inefficient architectures impeding real-time deployment. This paper proposes TEM3-Learning (Time-Efficient Multimodal Multi-task Learning), a novel framework that jointly optimizes driver emotion recognition, driver behavior recognition, traffic context recognition, and vehicle behavior recognition through a two-stage architecture. The first component, the mamba-based multi-view temporal-spatial feature extraction subnetwork (MTS-Mamba), introduces a forward-backward temporal scanning mechanism and global-local spatial attention to efficiently extract low-cost temporal-spatial features from multi-view sequential images. The second component, the MTL-based gated multimodal feature integrator (MGMI), employs task-specific multi-gating modules to adaptively highlight the most relevant modality features for each task, effectively alleviating the negative transfer problem in MTL. Evaluation on the AIDE dataset, our proposed model achieves state-of-the-art accuracy across all four tasks, maintaining a lightweight architecture with fewer than 6 million parameters and delivering an impressive 142.32 FPS inference speed. Rigorous ablation studies further validate the effectiveness of the proposed framework and the independent contributions of each module. | 2025 | Colliding Depths and Fusion: Leveraging Adaptive Feature Maps and Restorable Depth Recharge for Infrared and Visible Scene FusionabstractBoth the fusion expression of scene information from multi-modal images and pipeline of downstream tasks have become a new focus in image fusion field. Recently, most studies propose multi-task driven fusion methods. However, these methods employ specific trained multi-modal fusion parts for a certain downstream task, ignoring the broader scenario description and application value of the fusion task itself. In order to focus on the visual perception of depth features from the fusion scenes, we design a new method (CDFGAN) based on Scene Fusion (ScF), with the multi-modal geometric depth as background. Concretely, we leverage adaptive feature maps and recoverable depth information supplement for infrared and visible image fusion. First, by devising a Successive Generating Network (SGN) based on geometric interpolation, the structural consistency of fusion scenes is enhanced. We propose an Adaptive Discriminator Network (ADN) based on Elastic Feature Mapping Module (EFMM). This reduces time consumption caused by the design of modules in generator and improves the effectiveness of the discriminator as well as the generator. Furthermore, a multi-modal Poisson loss function is proposed to align the pixel distribution of different modals, ensuring the fusion results have more similar structural information to inputs. Extensive experiments have validated that our method has advantages and applicability in multiple downstream tasks while improving fusion performance.
