2005 Software Reuse Metrics for Object-Oriented Systems
abstract
The importance of software measurement is increasing leading to development of new measurement techniques. Reusing existing software components is a key feature in increasing software productivity. It is one of the key elements in object-oriented programming, which reduces the cost and increases the quality of the software. An important feature of C++ called templates support generic programming, which allows the programmer to develop reusable software modules such as functions, classes, etc. The need for software reusability metrics is particularly acute for an organization in order to measure the degree of generic programming included in the form of templates in code. This research addresses this need and introduces a new set of metrics for object-oriented software. Two metrics are proposed for measuring amount of genericty included in the code and then analytically evaluated against Weyuker's set of nine axioms. This set of metrics is then applied to standard projects and accordingly ways in which project managers can use these metrics are suggested.

2005 Performance evaluation of a switched mode detector using nonlinear method
abstract
Compensating for near/far effects is critical for satisfactory performance of DS/CDMA systems. One solution for reducing near/far effect is multiuser detection. Various optimal and sub optimal methods have been investigated. Most of these methods, get too complex even for relatively simple system. We propose a switched mode detector which switches its detection mode between matched filter detector and successive interference cancellation (SIC) detector according to the channel conditions. This detector reduces overall complexity while maintaining the same performance as SIC detector. The switching mechanism is exploited by performance complexity tradeoff between matched filter detector and SIC detector.

1975 A Simple Method for Reliability Evaluation of a Communication System
abstract
Very few techniques exist for reliability evaluation of communication systems where links as well as nodes have certain probability of failure. This correspondence describes a technique by which the reliability expression for such a system can be conveniently derived. It is also shown that using the concept of this correspondence, it is possible to extend all the existing reliability-evaluation algorithms to communication systems with little effort.
