2010 Estimation of Non-rigid Surface Deformation Using Developable Surface Model
abstract
There is a strong demand for a method of acquiring a non-rigid shape under deformation with high accuracy and high resolution. However, this is difficult to achieve because of performance limitations in measurement hardware. In this paper, we propose a model based method for estimating non-rigid deformation of a developable surface. The model is based on geometric characteristics of the surface, which are important in various applications. This method improves the accuracy of surface estimation and planar development from a low-resolution point cloud. Experiments using curved documents showed the effectiveness of the proposed method.

2007 The IllusionHole for Medical Applications
abstract
In this study, we discuss a display table suitable for collaborative work environments for medical use. Using an interactive stereoscopic display system allows simultaneous observation of accurate stereoscopic images generated from volume data. We further investigate all requirements for design guidelines of the display system, including hardware configuration, rendering software to generate the stereoscopic images, and the interface system to operate the displayed images

2006 The illusionhole with polarization filters
abstract
We have proposed the IllusionHole system, which allows three or more people to simultaneously observe stereoscopic images from dynamically changing individual viewpoints. With a simple configuration, this system provides intelligible 3D stereoscopic images free of flicker and distortion. Based on the IllusionHole concept, we have built a prototype system using two liquid crystal projectors and polarizing filters. This paper describes the details of this prototype. We investigate how the image formation position of the stereographic image is affected by sources of errors such as measurements of the user's interpupillary distance and observing position. We also measure and discuss the variation of brightness and hue with viewing direction.

2005 Tiny client system
abstract
Use of the Internet has increased rapidly, and data communications have changed from being hobby-based to becoming essential for daily living. It is important for everybody to easily obtain a necessary information from anywhere and at any time to confidently attain a true information society infrastructure in the future. The terminals are one of the most important elements. To obtain reliable information in the same environment anywhere and at any time, the introduction of a server-based computing (SBC) system is promising, because a SBC system accumulates and processes information in the one place. Cellular phones are also useful as terminals to easily achieve information access anywhere and at any time. To achieve an SBC system for cellular phones that can operate comfortably, we propose a light-weight protocol called the "UI component oriented protocol" and a function of speculative execution based on the prediction of user events. Moreover, we implemented a prototype system, and confirmed that our system worked quickly within the communications environment of cellular phones.
