| 2019 | Organic Photovoltaics: Toward Self-Powered Wearable ElectronicsabstractIn the past several years, research in soft and flexible electronics has promised to yield developments in wearable technology, including health and fitness monitoring tools, independence and mobility aids for the disabled, and human-computer interfaces for virtual and augmented reality. However, as these devices become thinner and lighter, they demand efficient power supplies with similar mechanical properties. Organic photovoltaics (OPVs)--known for their high flexibility, lightweight, and scalable fabrication methods-have recently attained power conversion efficiencies of over 17% and are excellent candidates to power these next-generation wearable devices. In this paper, we discuss recent developments in flexible OPVs, including advances in materials, structure, and integration with additional wearable components, such as sensors and displays. In addition, we describe our recent work in developing a self-powered actuator for a tactile feedback system. Kilho Yu, Steven Rich, Sunghoon Lee, Kenjiro Fukuda, Tomoyuki Yokota, Takao Someya |

| 2009 | Gevab: a prototype genome variation analysis browsing serverabstractBACKGROUND: The first Korean individual diploid genome sequence data (KOREF) was publicized in December 2008. RESULTS: A Korean genome variation analysis and browsing server (Gevab) was constructed as a database and web server for the exploration and downloading of Korean personal genome(s). Information in the Gevab includes SNPs, short indels, and structural variation (SV) and comparison analysis between the NCBI human reference and the Korean genome(s). The user can find information on assembled consensus sequences, sequenced short reads, genetic variations, and relationships between genotype and phenotypes. CONCLUSION: This server is openly and publicly available online at http://koreagenome.org/en/ or directly http://gevab.org. | 2006 | MAP-Based Object Extraction from Uncalibrated Image PairabstractIn this paper, we propose a new MAP algorithm for foreground objects extraction from uncalibrated image pairs. The segmentation is performed in the MAP framework with MRF (Markov random field) modeling of images. The proposed algorithm estimates several spatial transformations between two images by corresponding SIFT (scale invariant feature transform) points and sequential RANSAC (random sample consensus) algorithm. The area-ratio criterion is applied to the each transformation so that we select the transformation of foreground object. Using these transformations, we compute the likelihood of color-segmented subregions. We model the prior information which is based on smoothness condition. Finally, the object extraction is performed by the Bayesian belief propagation. Experiments on various image pairs and video sequences show promising results in extracting the foreground objects from the backgrounds. | 2005 | PSIbase: a database of Protein Structural Interactome map (PSIMAP)abstractUNLABELLED: Protein Structural Interactome map (PSIMAP) is a global interaction map that describes domain-domain and protein-protein interaction information for known Protein Data Bank structures. It calculates the Euclidean distance to determine interactions between possible pairs of structural domains in proteins. PSIbase is a database and file server for protein structural interaction information calculated by the PSIMAP algorithm. PSIbase also provides an easy-to-use protein domain assignment module, interaction navigation and visual tools. Users can retrieve possible interaction partners of their proteins of interests if a significant homology assignment is made with their query sequences.
