| 2024 | UCMCTrack: Multi-Object Tracking with Uniform Camera Motion CompensationabstractMulti-object tracking (MOT) in video sequences remains a challenging task, especially in scenarios with significant camera movements. This is because targets can drift considerably on the image plane, leading to erroneous tracking outcomes. Addressing such challenges typically requires supplementary appearance cues or Camera Motion Compensation (CMC). While these strategies are effective, they also introduce a considerable computational burden, posing challenges for real-time MOT. In response to this, we introduce UCMCTrack, a novel motion model-based tracker robust to camera movements. Unlike conventional CMC that computes compensation parameters frame-by-frame, UCMCTrack consistently applies the same compensation parameters throughout a video sequence. It employs a Kalman filter on the ground plane and introduces the Mapped Mahalanobis Distance (MMD) as an alternative to the traditional Intersection over Union (IoU) distance measure. By leveraging projected probability distributions on the ground plane, our approach efficiently captures motion patterns and adeptly manages uncertainties introduced by homography projections. Remarkably, UCMCTrack, relying solely on motion cues, achieves state-of-the-art performance across a variety of challenging datasets, including MOT17, MOT20, DanceTrack and KITTI. | 2023 | HaPPArray: Haptic Pneumatic Pouch Array for Feedback in handheld RobotsabstractHaptic feedback can provide operators of hand-held robots with active guidance during challenging tasks and with critical information on environment interactions. Yet for such haptic feedback to be effective, it must be lightweight, capable of integration into a hand-held form factor, and capable of displaying easily discernible cues. We present the design and evaluation of HaPPArray - a haptic pneumatic pouch array - where the pneumatic pouches can be actuated alone or in sequence to provide information to the user. A 3x3 array of pouches was integrated into a handle, representative of an interface for a hand-held robot. When actuated individually, users were able to correctly identify the pouch being actuated with 86% accuracy, and when actuated in sequence, users were able to correctly identify the associated direction cue with 89 % accuracy. These results, along with a demonstration of how the direction cues can be used for haptic guidance of a medical robot, suggest that HaPPArray can be an effective approach for providing haptic feedback for hand-held robots. | 2021 | Dedark+Detection: A Hybrid Scheme for Object Detection under Low-light SurveillanceabstractObject detection under low-light surveillance is a crucial problem that less efforts have been made on it. In this paper, we proposed a hybrid method that jointly use enhancement and object detection for the above challenge, namely Dedark+Detection. In this method, the low-light surveillance video is processed by the proposed de-dark method, and the video can thus be converted to appearance under normal lighting condition. This enhancement bring more benefits to the subsequent stage of object detection. After that, an object detection network is trained on the enhanced dataset for practical applications under low-light surveillance. Experiments are performed on 18 low-light surveillance video test sequences, and superior performance can be found when comparing to state-of-the-arts. | 2010 | On Sliding Window Based Change Point Detection for Hybrid SIP DoS AttackabstractAs the core infrastructure of the VoIP, IMS and IPTV, SIP based network is now increasingly been deployed throughout the world. Due mainly to the relatively high flow rate and the exorbitant session maintenance, SIP servers are similarly susceptible to the Denial-of-Service (DoS) Attacks above the IP stack, especially when the Distributed spoofing URI is considered. A hybrid SIP DoS detection method is proposed in this paper to handle three representative flooding attacks, and the CUSUM statistical detection founded on the adaptive sliding window based acquisition is adopted for achieving high accuracy and low latency. Experimental result shows that this method achieves a high rate, low latency and low false alarm rate of SIP flooding detection. Wenhai Li, Xiaolei Luo |
