| 2004 | Evolution of a computer science program toward globalized technological educationabstractA small state college computer science department may evolve to become a strong participant in globalized technological education by paying attention to actual student demographics and choosing to act to support and enhance the presence of a significant percentage of international students. The paper describes the background of one department's realization of its international role, its response and experience in implementing globalized computer science education, and its plans for integrating international students as an essential art of the overall student body. | 1978 | Realizations of Sequential Machines Using Random Access MemoryabstractModern large scale integration techniques, microcomputers, and programming techniques have made the classical realizations of sequential machines obsolete. These applications of sequential machines all occur in environments where random access memory, whether read-only or writable, is an extremely cost effective device. This paper presents a realization of a sequential machine which preserves the multiport branching characteristic of a sequential machine. A structure theory and a design technique are presented which allow an optimal memory size realization to be found. Edward J. Wilkens |
