| 2019 | An Intelligent Surveillance System Based on IoT for Internal Security of a NationabstractCross border terrorism and internal criminal activities are critical issues for any country to deal with. In India, such types of incidents that breach security are increasing and tracking such incidents depends only on the radio communications and the operations of security agencies. These security agencies face varied challenges to get real-time locations of targeted vehicles, their direction of fleeing, etc. This article proposes a novel application for the automated tracking of the suspicious vehicles in real-time. The proposed application tracks the vehicle based on their registration number, their type, color or RFID tag. The integration of RFID technique in the application reduces the overhead of image processing techniques, thus improving the performance of the application. This article also proposes an approach for vehicle classification. An integrated framework for tracking any vehicle at the request of security agencies is also proposed. Security agencies can track any vehicle in the specific time period by using a user interface application. Dharmender Singh Kushwaha |

| 2014 | A Versatile Approach for the Estimation of Software Development Effort Based on SRS DocumentabstractRequirement engineering is a disciplined application of proven principles, methods, tools and notations to describe the behavior of a system. Generally a project suffers because of improper determination and documentation of software requirements. The intricacies in software development processes are often not understood by the client. Hence, requirements submitted by client need a careful examination. In order to produce proper artifact, it is necessary that the software requirements should be documented into the software requirement specification (SRS) on the basis of the recommendations of IEEE 830:1998 document. To address these issues, a measure for early estimation of software complexity based on SRS of the yet to be developed software is proposed. Further, this complexity measure serves as a basis for computing and deriving early estimation of software development effort too. The results obtained from the proposed measure are able to establish that the measure is accurate and precise as compared to various other existing measures that are based on the algorithm/parameters, software code, function point analysis and use case points. All this is accomplished using SRS document at an early phase of software development process. The proposed measure is robust, comprehensive, early alarming and compares well with other development effort estimation measures proposed in the past. | 2012 | A Transparent Service Replication Mechanism for CloudsabstractFile replication in distributed environment has been discussed by many researchers, but the issues like transparency and their impact on the overall system performance, are rarely focused, when deployed in the cloud environment. Distributed computing started with the cluster followed by the grid and is now in the era of cloud computing, where most of the services are accessed, by few clicks. In cloud, services are invoked on demand and there is no need of dedicated resources. It demands the availability of resources(i.e. logical resources), in order to fulfill the user requirements. To make this feasible, on-demand availability of logical resources (LR) is preferred. This work proposes an OndemandLogical Resource Replication Scheme (OLRRS) for file replication. OLRRS approach provides migration, access and performance transparency to the system, thereby ensuring the migration decisions about the files. It is also responsible for replicating the file, from one peer server to the other peer server, when the total number of request, on a peer server, for transferring a file reaches the threshold value. The scheme is simulated on JAVA platform and tested on a private cloud. A comparative study of the proposed approach with the Request Reply and Request Reply (RR) Acknowledgement (RRA)protocol is presented, showing the significant reduction by37.5% to 58%, in terms of total number of messages exchanged for replication. | 2011 | Simplifying Web Service Discovery & Validating Service CompositionabstractWeb services are software components developed to simplify machine-to-machine interaction over the Web. Many researches are targeted towards Web service standardization, and these efforts have significantly contributed towards improving functionality of Service Oriented Architecture (SOA). However, there are number of issues yet to be resolved. Among them, one of the major challenges is the standardization of Web service composition. When a single web service cannot satisfy the given request, composition of web services need to be incorporated. In this paper, we address Web service composition problem with the signature-based service discovery and composition approach. In the proposed approach, each web service is described by WSDL. Our design eliminates the need of complicated discovery agents like UDDI and also facilitates validation of the service before actually accessing it for integration. The composition problem has been modelled as a finite state machine, which means if the all the intermediate states are rightly composed then the final composition is successful. We propose a simple yet efficient algorithm DISCOMP for the discovery and composition. This paper analyses build time and runtime issues related to signature-based approach. We support our design decision with implementation and performance results obtained on a decentralized setup.
