2004 Application of packet assembly technology to digital video and VoIP
abstract
The Internet is composed of many kinds of networks and the networks are composed of network nodes such as routers. Routers use processor power for forwarding each packet with any size. At that time, node processor would be a bottleneck in respect to the high throughput if there would be too many packets to forward. Then, authors propose the packet assembly method. This aims to decrease the number of packets for the reduction of processor load, based on the fact that there are many packets much smaller than maximum transferable unit in backbone network.

1996 InterSpace Project - CyberCampus (Video Program)
abstract
InterSpace is a revolutionary communication environment that allows users the flexibility of multi-modal interaction. People in InterSpace communicate using audio as well as video interaction in a three dimensional world. Remote terimals are connected to a central server via networks. Facial image, audio, and proximity, are processed and sent out to the remote terminals to enable multi-modal communication in a virtual world. InterSpace technology comes a step closer to bridging the gap between virtual reality and world experiences. We conducted a trial service, CyberCampus, based on the InterSpace platform. Individual actions can now be shared with other users as you explore, talk, shop, learn, and experience the many facets of CyberCampus. Environments related to entertainment, distance learning, on-line shopping, and advertisement are currently being explored in CyberCampus with unlimited expansion capabilities.

1991 Personal Multimedia-Multipoint Teleconfernce System
abstract
A personal multimedia-multipoint teleconference (PMTC) system is described that allows teleconferences using voice, full-motion video and graphics to be established with up to 20 terminals through a mesh type multipoint configuration using a broadband ISDN. PMTC service concepts are discussed, especially conference environments called conference spaces for sharing the same information among participants, and communication control methods for multipoint communication. The hardware architecture of a prototype PMTC terminal based on an existing general purpose workstation is also described.>
